I'm Back!
| Mon, 02-14-2005 - 12:12pm |
I finally made it back. As you probably guessed, I over-did-everything and had to stay in the bed for a few days. I went back to the gym before getting clearance, I never slowed down to recover from childbirth, wasn't eating enough, and I wasn't sleeping. Well, everything caught up with me in the form of a terrible breast infection and milk blister, and I was forced to slow down. Everything is better now and I can now workout regularly. I've been running and returned to my step aerobics class. I will be adding resistance training this week. What have I missed? Looks like Paula is pregnant. CONGRATS! Kiervin is back. Yay! K, I asked about you a few weeks ago. What's this about you heart? What else have I missed?

Glad to have you back!
I was wondering about you too. Glad everything is better now. Please take care of yourself. You have to be in good shape to take care of that wonderful baby daughter.
Now don't jump in again too much too soon. Take it one step at a time and you will be back to your old self in no time! EAT! You need extra calories when breastfeeding, and now, adding exercise into the mix, you have to make sure you eat enough.
I worry about first time moms...think of me as you resident gym rat mom.
Take care...

Hey, I hear congrats are in order!!! When did you have her? Size, weight, gimme details woman!
Sorry to hear about the milk infection. Yep, had one of those once. I was very careful after it not to get another. That is nasty pain. In fact, a GF at work was sitting at lunch waiting for a call from her doc yesterday because of one.
It was not my heart, my brother's. The combination of the alcoholism and the cardio myopothy from the flu a few years ago was just too much. It was a horrible death, but that has made it easier to let him go, at least he is no longer in excrutiating pain. In the aftermath I realized that nothing brings your own mortality into sharp focus quite like losing a sibling. Something in your psyche goes, "hmmm." I'm still not nearly on track and I'm working even more obscene hours because of this promotion but I'm working towards it:)

Oh, sorry about your brother. I remember you talking about his health about a year ago. I hope you're doing OK. On a lighter note...
Jaden Storm was born December 28. I was checking in with the board while in labor giving everyone the play-by-play until the pain got too bad. I was in labor for 21 hours (19 without pain meds). She was 5lbs 15oz and 21 inches long. She was tiny but I carried her for 39 weeks! She's doing very well these days and was 8lbs 13oz at her 1-month appointment. Check your e-mail for pictures... ;)
P.S. Congrats on your promotion!

I'm so happy that your birth experience went well. I begged off on the drug free thing with my first, it was ugly.
I'll check my email for the pics when I get to work, I'm already 15 minutes late leaving (I'm soooo tired...)
Thanks for your condolences. It really has been difficult, like I said, losing a sibling changes you in unimaginable ways. I'm getting by and finding tons of positives in my life so I'm hoping not to crash how I did with my father. I do lead a blessed life.
I'll talk with you soon. Again, congrats. I wish I could come give Jaden a nuggle, there is nothing more amazing and beautiful than a new baby.
