Ok ladies, I am sick of eating the same things over and over.

I have 24pts a day on WW. On average every 100 calories is 2pts.

I am trying to think up some new breakfast and dinner ideas.

Normally I have oatmeal, and a granola bar or something along those lines. Yogurt is always a plus since I need the calcium. But do you guys have any other ideas for breakfast food that will hold me over to lunch?

Dinner time, after my workouts I usually nuke something a Lean Cuisine or make up some Egg Beaters, I need something quick but tasty.

What do you think?

New breakfast can be tough, I just switched to the egg beaters with cheese and chives. Love them. Then I add in spinach and tomatoes.

Post makes carb well cereal that I like, it is very crunchy, low in carbs, cal, sugar and fat (which is a tough combo to find in a cereal).

A girl I work with mixes grape nuts or some kind of bran cereal with cottage cheese.

Dinner - my favorite to make that lasts for days is...
ground breast of turkey, ground tomatoes from can, onions, mushrooms, sautee it all and then put some shredded cheese on top.
Also now I am into, wheat pasta with shrimp on top.

I think the best way to get new foods in for breakfast is if you get that breakfast food mentality out of your head.

I eat just about anything for breakfast. Often leftovers. In the bad old days, it would be cookies and cake.

Oh, the horror!

i eat the same things every day too - try some of mine! the only thing is, all my food comes from the health food store, i rarely go to the regular supermarket except for produce.

a frozen Lifestream flax waffle for breakfast, topped with warmed frozen fruit.

packs of Thai Kitchen soup (kinda like ramen, but healthy) for dinner with lots of frozen veggies thrown in. low calorie, very quick to cook, and filling.

also, boxes of Imagine creamy soups with veggies and/or Trader Joe's meatless meatballs added in.

when i'm in the mood for "junk food" - boca burgers on toasted frozen whole wheat buns, with baked frozen sweet potato fries.

all of these things last a long time in the cupboard or freezer, so you don't have to go shopping frequently.

just a note about peanut butter for those who don't know - most commercial brands like Jif have partially hydrogenated oil (trans fat) in them and are not healthy at all. natural peanut butters and other nut butters, of course, are healthy. rule of thumb, if doesn't seperate with oil on top, it's partially hydrogenated. keep natural peanut butters in the fridge if you want to prevent separation.

mmmm grapenuts. i don't let myself eat them anymore, you know they are not whole grain at all? plus, a tiny little bowl of them has about a million calories. i figure if i'm going to eat high calorie processed carbs, i might as well have french toast. they are delicious though.

i get them frozen at my co-op or whole foods. you just pour them out of the bag and bake till crispy. they are really yummy, i like to dip them in a maple/mustard sauce (recipe - put brown mustard in bowl, spoon on some maple syrup, stir)

that reminds me, i also eat mashed sweet potatos often for a quick snack - rinse sweet potato and nuke for 3-6 minutes depending on size of sweet potato. skin will peel off easily when done. add salt, sugar, cinnamon, margarine or a splash of oj for moisture, mash with a fork, eat.

Check the label on sweet potato fries before you buy them.

Good idea Jean.

I know this seems like a dumb question but if I used a regular sweet potato and made them myself, how do I calculate a serving size and calories and such?
