I love this falafel (Fantastic Foods brand). I had the deep fried stuff once... at a food court where there was nothing else vegan available except New York Fries & I don't eat fries anymore. Ick. Like fries all I could taste was the oil it was fried in (I didn't realize they were deep fried until I started eating it). Now that you mentioned them I might make some to have w/ supper tonight. Normally I have falafel stuffed in a ww pita w/ a bunch of veggies, but I'm making a big salad for supper & thinking now of having some falafel on the side & dipping it in sweet chili sauce or mango curry marinade.
Well, I recently started adding spelt flour to ww flour when I'm baking. I picked up some quinoa that I'm intending to make a pilaf from sometime soon and since I'll be heading across town to the organic grocer sometime this week I'm going to pick up some soy or seitan jerky to try. Also I picked up some Soy Dream frozen dessert bars (they're like ice cream sandwiches) last Fri. They're sooo yummy and addictive. So I've got lots of new things happening on the dietary front. I'm also giving serious consideration to attempting to make tofu 'cheesecake'.
The vegan bookstore/cafe i go to has fabulous looking desserts, but I've never had room to try them. One of them is called Better Than Cheesecake. Maybe I'll go just for tea & dessert sometime.
My frozen dessert snacks are called Lil' Dreamers and they're just little things too. Perfect guilt-free snack - healthy, primarily organic, ingredients; taste good; & only 55 cal. each. The bonus is DH & # 1 Son have no desire to try them since they're soy based. They don't know what they're missing & given the cost, & the fact that they're happy w/ Fudgesicles, I'm not going to tell them. ;->
I tried cottage cheese last week from cbear's menu. It was really good but it seemed to act as a trigger food for me. This week I'd like to try Jean's fake sausage. What is it and where do I find it?
