The boot camp class I go to every week is a circuit class. We do about 10-15 minutes of step, then she gives everyone a number, and has set up 3 stations. Then she yells stations and we go around and do each of them, then another round of cardio, then another round of the stations. Of course if anyone is "bad" (talks) we do pushups as well.

Do you like it?

I've done classes like this before and while I think it's fun every once in a while, I probably wouldn't do it on a regular basis. I don't like it when things involving form go too fast. People are more focused on doing quickly rather than doing it correctly and that makes me a little nervous.

That's true about form.

i've taken classes like that and it was really fun and really hard, and i just about had a heart attack from getting my heart rate up so high. i think it can be really hard depending on how you teach it. if you kick their butts they might request that the instructor step it up a notch after she comes back.

She has tough exercises, it's just that it's broken down into odd exercise groups so you have a lot of down time trying to figure it out.

the class i took was mostly cardio type exercises, like stepping up and down off a high bench, running through hoops, and other stuff that kept your heartrate high - like push ups, those you can take a short break and keep going for 2 minutes or whatever. when we did have to take turns on something like using weights, the others in the group

I think I'll do it mostly cardio.

yeah, stuff like that. that reminds me, the class i took was also split into groups by fitness level. that makes a huge difference.

The athletic conditioning class that I wrote about a few days ago is kind of like that. Although the class yearns for down time, there is none because the class is taught by 2 instructors that work very well together and keep things moving. I'm going to try it soon, but I'm afraid.
