A Few Questions

Good Morning Ladies.

I have a few questions and I will post my journal here as well.

Weigh in was last night. I was down 2.5, Darnit! I so needed an extra .5 LOL. I wanted my new book for my ipod. But hopefully next week :)

Typically on my weigh in day, I eat a light breakfast and lunch. I did yesterday as well. WW is based on points so I have 24 pts total for the day. I had 18 left for dinner. I ate Mr. Pita, and some Chili from Burger King and a few other WW friendly things. I am curious to know if you guys think lumping my big meal at the end of the day for one day is a bad idea? I typically try to use 6pts for breakfast and 6 for lunch and than have 12 for dinner since I am usually pretty hungry after the gym.

Secondly tonight I am having Middle Eastern food. Mr. Man is coming into to town and this is what I have planned for the day. Let me know what you think please.

Oatmeal - 2pts

Cereal Bar - 2pts

Jello - 0pts

Carrots - 0pts

Lunch -

Side Salad -2pt

Fruit 2pts

A pretty quick 45 minute run at the gym since that is all I will have time for today.

Snack -

Granola Bar - 2pts

Dinner -

Chicken Breast Salad. 4pts for the chicken, and I am assuming 4 pts for the dressing

Lynn, the Healthy Eating Expert, covered this on her board recently:

Congrats on the 2.5 pounds!

Thanks Jean,

I was not aware of that. I mean I have heard about eating smaller meals throughout the day, I was just curious about the one day a week larger meal. For me I think it is a way to unwind. I can relax at home, eat something sensible and not have to worry about the gym or the office.

That post was really good thanks for finding that for me.

i think that the eating smaller meals thing works for a lot of people, but it is overhyped as being something that will work for everyone, when it does not. first of all, i don't think it matters at all once a week. second of all, it might or might not be something that works well for you to try to do on most days.

i have tried numerous times to eat smaller, more frequent

I am a lot like you Jen, I think my body responds better to a bigger meal.

People have always said, snack more, I will have some raw carrots or some veggie here and there during the day. I have gotten used to a mid sized breakfast ,same for lunch and a bigger meal after my workout. After the gym seems to be when I am most hungry, which makes sense to me.

I know that my body has a lot more to digest when I eat that one HEAVY meal after my weigh in, which I am sure is not super healthy. I guess I figured since I am not putting total crap into my system it shouldn't be a huge deal. I am just going through the learning curve.

I am trying to figure things out that will work for me once I get to my goal weight as well. I think that is going to be the bigger issue. Finding the things that work for me than. But it will be awhile until I get there!

That's definitely the key--finding what works for you.
