Reality Check

I went to Sgt. Roy's class last night. What a reality check! I struggled through the push-ups, having to drop to my knees for 2/3 of them. His class is still so hard! The abs weren't too bad and although my quads were burning, I did all 200 squats. Do you know that 4-count exercise where you squat down to the ground, extend your legs into push-up position, bring your legs back into squat position, and then stand up? I did 2 sets of those but couldn't do the other two sets. I talked to Sarge after class and he said I was doing very well for someone who just had a baby 7 weeks ago. But honestly, taking his class helped me realize just how much work I have to do! I need to work on my strength and stamina a lot more than I thought. His class should have me back to my old level soon and if I stall, he offered to train me. I think having him as a trainer would be awesome, but I want to see how much I can do on my own first. Besides, I'm not working right now and I can't spend the extra money yet.

I know you know about getting back into it and that 7 weeks off (plus taking it easier through pregnancy!) will make a big difference. But, with how much you worked before, I have no doubt you'll be back in top form soon.

Yes, that chest pain is especially noticeable while running! I don't want to compress my breasts too much because I certainly don't want to deal with clogged milk ducts and infection again, but I need the "motion control." So, I'm wearing a little bigger bra and jumping/running is a little uncomfortable for me. I'm also having a little problem with bladder control! I didn't notice it until last night when I was doing jumping jacks in Sarge's class. I have suddenly found a new appreciation for my old body and long for it to return!

Yeah, all of us who went back to working out at the 6 week mark talked about the pain of bouncing.

If the bladder thing doesn't ease in the next couple of weeks I would mention it to your doctor.

I STILL have problems, and my youngest is 9. I had big babies, natural births, and it has most definately adversely affected my long term bladder control.
