Question..........

I been dealing with a head cold (congestion, a little coughing) for about 3 weeks. I still continued to work out because I felt fine physically. (Remember, I just started back working out, so I am not doing a lot, just walking on tread mill and doing some machines weights.) Then Sunday night I felt awful. I was sooo tired and so weak, walking was hard to do. This lasted until Tuesday night. Wednesday I felt fine, but took a day off from w/o. So my last w/o was Friday night.

My DH thinks I over did it and should of stopped my w/o when I had my head cold 3 weeks ago. I think that is a little drastic. Today I feel fine, still have a stuffy nose but planning to w/o tonight. My DH thinks I'm nuts to w/o tonight.

Any thoughts? Did I over do it? What is your criteria for calling off a w/o because you feel bad?

Thanks,
Frazz

the general rule is that if your symptoms are in your head (stuffy nose, etc.) it's fine to work out if you feel well enough. obviously, if you feel really tired and worn out, don't work out. if you have a cough, "they say" it's best to skip working out, but some coughs can linger for a while, so i think it's ok to do light workouts with a lingering cough, but take it easy on your cardiovascular system - don't do high intensity intervals or anything.

since you've been sick for so long, maybe a trip to the doctor is in order.

I agree w/ what Jen said. I'd think walking on the treadmill is okay but take everything easy.
