What do you usually wear to work out at the gym? (Tank top? T-shirt? Shorts? Pants?)

Are there any specific brands of workout clothes you like? Hate?

Do you have a piece of fitness apparel that you love and why?

What kind of socks do you wear? (Ankle, crew, etc.)

What brand of shoes do you prefer and what type? (crosstrainers, running shoes, etc.)

Do you buy a specific brand of sports bras and why?

What's the most you've ever spent on an article of fitness clothing other than shoes?

You are right, I can remember being in college and I was heavier and wishing I could wear "gym" clothes to the gym. It took me a few years of working out to obtain a body I thought looked good in workout clothes.

But I do think they have gotten better.

I know all about them. My sister told me about them. By the time i went to get them all they had was gray, which i thought would show my cellulite too much.lol They are a great price. My sister was lucky and picked up a pair. They look great on her. I guess i'll have to keep checking back to see if they get more in. Thanks Suzanne

Yeah, i'm still plugging away at the exercise. It's been over a year now and i'm as addicted as ever. I'm still working out at least five days a week for about and hour-an hour and a half each time. I just do recreational exercise on the weekend. I just love working out. My weight loss in that time is nothing to jump up and down about..only 35-40lbs...so it's going very slow for the amount of exercise i am doing. My eating is such an issue for me. It has gotten better but it still needs a lot of work. I did do that program and i think i lost around 15lbs..towards the end i wasn't really following it closely. I have such a hard time sticking to the eating plan. None the less, i've gone from a size 22-24 to a 16. But i'm still very much overweight at around 195lbs as of today. I'm extremely frustrated at the moment with my lack of progress and am feeling a bit desperate to be honest. I don't want to get to summer and be the same weight now. I've stayed at this same weight for at least 6mos. I've even gotten to the point of thinking about taking some of those over the counter weight loss products. Yet the 'healthy' part of me says 'NO!!!!" loud and clear. I don't want to loose it at the cost of my health but i hate the fact that i put so much into my exercise yet i can't seem to go down in weight any further. I could just cry some days. I don't know why i can't get that part of the 'lifestyle' change down yet. But i can honestly say, i am still motivated beyond belief to get to where i want...I want this and it will happen, i just hope sooner than later. When i workout, i do it with everything i have. I feel like a size 10 in a 16 body...it's the mirror that shocks me into reality. I do feel better health wise. I'm no longer on blood pressure medication. As of the last few days, i'm trying to get my eating under control and eat more frequently and all goes well until the hours between 4pm-7pm, that's when all hell breaks loose. The chocolate, snacks get the better of me. I think it's because that is the time my stress goes up. My son gets home from school, of course wanting a snack..so that gets me thinking about food right away. Then the stress of trying to get him to do his homework, get dinner started, etc.. I think i'm eating emotionally but i'm not sure what to do about it. I tried meal planning this week and it has helped a bit but still that's such a tough time for me. I just don't know what to do. Today i tried relaxational breathing before i picked up my son and it seemed to help a little. Anyhow, so that's where i'm at right now. Feeling a bit down on myself about not being able to get control of the food. Anyhow, thanks for asking. Suzanne

Thanks so much Jean. I haven't had my body fat tested officially but i have a scale at home that measures it. I don't know how accurate it is though. It has come down, but i think i would still be classified as obsese.lol I am much healthier, and this i am very grateful. Ya know maybe i should try that eating around 3-4pm right before my son gets home. Perhaps that will help, thanks for that suggestion. I am trying to keep track of my eating but have never calorie counted. I was mainly eating the bulk of my calories at dinner for the longest time. Now i'm trying to eat small, frequent meals to even it out. It's hard to make that change. Ya know, I find i do want to eat when i am angry or stressed and this is why i want to change. Life is full of stress and i must learn a healthy way to deal with it. I have always been an anxious person, even as a very young child. Eating was always an outlet and has lead to my weight problems. I love tootsies but i can never stop at one.lol Chocolate in general is a huge problem for me. I'm almost better off to never eat it, because when i do it always leads to overeating. I have to work on my eating without question, i just wish it was easier.lol Thanks so much for your words of encouragement. After posting initially I told myself tonight i will not eat after 7pm. So far so good.lol Suzanne

I forgot, I own 3 pairs of girls size 16 (XXL) bootcut pants from Old Navy, and if you are short and fit, they are GREAT..only cost $12 CDN a pair.

that's terrible that it's so hard to find workout clothes that fit - i'm sure that keeps some people (glad not you!) from working out and going to the gym. i guess companies assume that bigger women don't workout? i don't know, but that's terrible. i hope it changes soon. maybe if you emailed nike or adidas or whatever company and asked them about it, eventually they'd get the idea.

you should be proud of your weight loss and your committment to working out! and remember, the scale doesn't reflect the HUGE health benefits you've given yourself by staying committed to working out all this time. think about what a great gift you've given to your son to have a mom that is healthy and can keep up with him.

maybe if you keep healthy things around to munch during those risky hours when your son comes home, like grapes or baby carrots.

are you strength training? sorry if you mentioned if you were, but if you aren't that would boost your weight loss. or even if you are, maybe taking it up a notch or changing things around.

What do you usually wear to work out at the gym? (Tank top? T-shirt? Shorts? Pants?)

I generally wear a tank top or tshirt with capri pants. I don't like my legs so I don't very often wear shorts.

Are there any specific brands of workout clothes you like? Hate?

Adidas clothing seems to fit pretty well. Other than that, I just buy whatever fits well.

Do you have a piece of fitness apparel that you love and why?

Just about any of my shoes. :) I could care less about the clothes.

What kind of socks do you wear? (Ankle, crew, etc.)

I wear ankle socks. I decided sometime last year that crew socks looked silly with capri pants and I can't bring myself to wear them anymore.

What brand of shoes do you prefer and what type? (crosstrainers, running shoes, etc.)

Do you buy a specific brand of sports bras and why?

Champion Jogbra - I think that's what it's called.

What's the most you've ever spent on an article of fitness clothing other than shoes?

Probably about $30 for pants.
