Speaking of clothes...

...I have a shopping gripe. Went shopping today to get some new spring/summer clothes and left the store in utter frustration. I tried on about 10 pairs of pants and NOT one of them fit. I thought that the whole tacky low rise thing was out (sorry to those of you who like the low risers) but oh no. I was sorely mistaken. I swore this past summer that I would NOT purchase one more pair of pants that would force me to be on "crack control." I'm sick of having to make sure my shirt is pulled down far enough when I sit or avoid squatting in stores because of my "crack problem." I never thought my waist was at an abnormal place on my body but apparently it is.

Hello, my name is Kel and I have a crack problem. Anybody else with me?

OMG, the Virginia legislature actually talked about passing a law that says you can't show your underwear with low risers...because they don't have anything more serious to work on???

That's so funny. When i initally got my pair of jeans at old navy, i tried on a pair of their low rise..they actually had them in my size which i was shocked by, but i tried them anyway. They actually looked cute until i reached down to pick my clothes off the floor. My sister said, "there is no way you could wear them out and actually bend". We laughed so hard, she was totally right. Neadless to say, i got the just below the waist pair. The bad part is i see so many girls wearing the low rise that shouldn't. I know they probably think they look hot but it;s horrible how their tummies hang over. I feel like going up to them and telling them. There is very few who can wear them well. The girls that try often end up looking larger than they are because the low rise cinch the waist and make it look bigger. I read that in the paper about them wanting to fine people for seeing their underwear etc.lol I did see a pic of britany spears thong hanging out of her pants and thought it looked really raunchy, and she has a great body. I can say, being a mom, i don't like it when the thong shows. It just grosses me out, that sort of stuff, i don't need to see when i'm shopping or at the zoo. I see it in the gym quite often on girls in their 20's, and it's obvious they want it to show. Anyhow, i'm with you on this one. I don't like the low rise...for the simple fact they are not practical for a women that must bend over.lol I bet the guys love em! SUzanne

I'm with you girls - I do not like low riders! IMHO, I think it makes your hips wider . . . my hips are wide enough and I don't need anything to accentuate them even more! The love of my life, Eddie Bauer, has wonderful jeans that fit me perfectly! He carries low riders, but he still is true to us older shoppers who just don't want to show a partial eclipse of the moon whenever we bend over.

Count me into your club!

For us people with a short waist, low rise is the best. I swear I can wear Old Navy Ultra Low rise and they look normal on me, as opposed to anyone else who needs crack control.

But I think in the stores the low rise pants have risen.

I like low rise pants, too - I don't have a really curvy body so they create a little bit of curves of me and I've never had too much of a crack problem. And I love low rise underwear.

I understand, what's good for one body is not for another. I too will not wear casual pants/jeans if they are sitting on my waist, i like the just below waist jean. The low rise just cut me off to low.lol It's funny i had some old clothes packed away and i pulled them out because i lost some weight and i just laughed at the styles and fit. I did feel like urkel in them. In fact, i too find the regular jeans uncomfortable. It's harder to find a jean inbetween the regualar and low rise but that'm my preference for my body type. I too love the low rise hipsters i bought from walmart. they are great, and comfortable. Suzanne
