Hi I'm new to this board-I read it sometimes but I don't think I ever posted (lol I'm a "lurker"). I'm not sure exactly what type of music you meant by "music with a good beat" because everyone has their own opinion of what that is... However when I work out I love everything on the Deborah Cox "Remixed" CD...it really gets me going when I need to work out but I also listen to house music a lot.
My step aerobics instructor uses what I call "bar music"-different from other aerobics instructors I've had in the past-some of the songs on her CD include Billy Joel "Uptown Girl", Def Leppard "Photograph", Pat Benatar "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" "Invincible", Journey "Anyway You Want It", Bon Jovi "You Give Love A Bad Name"-not exactly my fav choices but they still get me moving...
the thing that's good about itunes is that you can listen to various songs and find what you like. you might want to check out some of the playlists that other itunes customers (and various artists too) set up - if someone likes the same kind of music you do, then they might be able to introduce you to new stuff.
i usually listen to metal and punk when i work out so i don't know that i'm going to be the best for suggestions.
as far as oldies go - right now, i'm REALLY into dick dale - the classic surf rock guy. (i'd offer to burn you a cd of a few of his songs but
I agree, a lot of new pop stuff is pretty good. Every once in awhile, I'll indulge in a little...gasp, Britney Spears. Yes, I know she's skanky, but I just think about how fit I'm getting, when her cheetos-loving a$$ has gotten a bit chunky in the past year or so ;)
are you thinking of the lenny kravitz song? "she's so fine, that little lady..." or something like that. i'm not sure of the name but i bet you can find it on itunes if you search for lenny kravitz.
i love working out to 80s pop when i'm doing cardio -- esp. stuff like the pet shop boys, culture club, etc. for weights i'm all about hip hop and metal -- nothing like pumping some iron to ac/dc's "back in black".
