No cutting!! You will just feel worse and more ashamed and desperate afterwards. I don't know your entire story but it sounds like you are going through emotional turmoil and are waiting to get in to see a psychiatrist?
I have been there! And I know how it feels to not think you can go another day without getting some help. That's why you need to get on the phone with your primary care physician and tell him/her exactly that. If you can't get ahold of your dr., ask for the nurse. Convey your urgency and desperation, and ask what they can do for you! I have had to do the same thing, and they helped me out.
In the meantime, it's ok to let things slide for today. How about renting or going to a movie to take your mind off of things? Go by yourself if you have to - the important thing is to take it easy and reduce your stress level. Your chemicals are on overload, and that is making it hard to function. Not your fault!! I hereby give you permission to be a total slacker today or as long as you need to be until you are feeling able to deal with the world.
Please keep me posted and remember that cutting or any other self destructive behavoir is going to make you feel worse in the long run, not better.

There's no food in the house. I do not trust myself to drive. Without food, I can't clean the bathroom or shower or do laundry.
What do I do?
You are going to be fine. Call your dr. right now - if your dr. is not in, ask to see a colleague or the nurse. Ask if you can come in today because you are thinking about hurting yourself.
It's extremely difficult to make decisions when you are suffering from severe depression. Do you have a good friend or someone else that can come over? You need someone to drive you to your doctor's office when you get that appointment, and to bring you over some eats.
Better days are ahead. :)
That's really a load of crap not to squeeze you in today if you explained the extent of the situation --- I am glad that you are going to the dr. soon, but no brownie points for your dr. from me.
