I am going to try and take it easier than I have the past few months. I have been working out alot on top of everything I already do I added in a few more muscle conditioning classes. My upper body is very toned, however, I think my knees are paying the price. All the extra exercise has taken a toll, I should probably rest again today but I am going to end up doing kick boxing,
that's essentially what my dad said - except keep in mind that when you "elevate" for a hurt back you lay on your back with your knees bent and supported, it's not about elevating your back.
My ball teacher said the best thing is to lie on the floor with your legs elevated, bent, lower legs on a chair so they're parallel to the floor and your quads are perpendicular to the lower leg and your body w/ your arms straight out.
Is the elliptical easier on your knees? Good to know. I have spent so many years nursing a back injury, that injuring another part of my body has me all out of whack. I do not know what to stretch, what to use.
Is that 2 separate classess Jean or one combo class? You are subbing a lot. I got called to sub spin, but I don't do spin. I wish I would get called to sub soon...it is always feast or famine with subbing.
Today I actually went and ordered my dress for DD's wedding. I ended up with black empire style gown and it is ok. DD's wedding is black and white. The attendants are in black and all the flower girls are in white. I will try to get a little white jacket or shawl to cover my arms. I hate the size charts from bridal stores. And, it is not a mother of the bride dress...they were so not me!!
Got the report from the doctor about the MRI. It is not pretty. There is a small neuroma again and it is being aggravated by a large amount of scar tissue. It can be taken care of and that is the good news. The pain I feel in the bunion area is another long story. A small bone on the bottom of my foot has no blood supply and is arthritic. It is strange because the bone that was cut to remove the bunion has no blood supply and it is fine. The years of pounding on it doing classes caused the problem! It can be removed and it will aleave the pain and give me more mobility in the joint. This can all be done together as well as the neuroma in the other foot. I am going to do it since my "quality" of exercise is not where it should be and walking is really uncomfortable. So, it would mean in July after DD's wedding, I will have the neuroma removed from left foot and the bone and neuroma along with scar tissue removed from right foot. It is all considered soft tissue surgery so it can all be done together. I just wish I could do it now, but I know my feet will swell on and off for months after surgery and it will be just as uncomfortable for DD's wedding. I will find some nice black sandals to wear for the wedding and hope for the best.
Did 36 minutes on the elliptical this morning. I will teach tomorrow and do weights then as well as the elliptical at the gym if I am still working there. :).
Eating is ok so far. Decaf tea and whole grain cereal with low fat milk for breakfast. Almonds for snack. Leftover tuna and salad for lunch. Dinner..grilled chicken, vegetables and some sort of starch.
WEll...that is my day. There is a meeting tonight at the gym and I am not going. I don't care if I get "fired" but I did not sleep well last night and I am getting sinus headaches.
Today I switched my strength routine to just lower body and abs for 30 mins, then hopped on the elliptical for 30 mins. I know the same cardio is supposed to be boring and your body gets used to it, but my heart rate still goes up just fine so I think I'll stick with it a little while longer. :) I think I'll do upper body and abs on Wednesday, and a total body circuit on Friday.

That sounds terrible with the neuroma!
