i should add that the thing that will turn my head above anything else, other than being in a great rock band, is tattoos. tattoos are super hot. piercings are hot too.
oh, and of course vegans. nothing hotter than that. tattooed vegan punk boys - that's what turns my head.
i don't like guys who look like they think about what they are wearing either, but they have to (secretly) think about it a little just so they aren't wearing something that is completely dorky like pleated front dockers (sorry to any pleated front dockers wearers out there). jeans and a tee shirt from a band they like is perfect. the "not looking like you care how you look" thing is largely the source of my distaste of fussy facial hair styles.
i also like guys who follow their passions, and like them to be themselves and not follow the crowd. but that doesn't mean that a guy whose passion is, let's say golf, is going to turn my head as much as someone whose passion has to do with some kind of creative expression or some kind of progressive activism or maybe some kind of adventure sport.
obviously, there can be any number of great guys in the world that wear pleated dockers and are obsessed with golf. but we are talking about what's going to turn your head - that's necessarily dealing with someone on a superficial level. hopefully, most people don't automatically reject or accept people on a personal level solely on whether they "turn your head" or not.
yes, i'm a lawyer, so i know firsthand what kinds of people become lawyers. not even a non-profit type lawyer would turn my head. even if they aren't obsessed with money, they will still necessarily have certain personality traits or else they wouldn't have gotten through law school and have gotten that job. chances are that ANY lawyer who is actively working as a lawyer will have the following traits: competitive, ambitious, highly logical as opposed to following intuition, argumentative/likes to debate, relatively conservative/conformist in they way they do things regardless of their politics

We could hang out in a club and never have to compete for a guy, we have such different types!
Interesting that 2 of us (Jen and I) both specifically said NO LAWYERS. :)

Totally superficial--we're talking appreciating physical traits w/out knowing anything about the person.

d'oh sorry!
the good news is, we wouldn't be attracted to the same guys at the bar. the bad news is, we would probably have to go to two different bars!
