I was at the gym and there was a lady there very clearly into her book. She was reading the thing while doing weights of all things. There she was holding it, reading while doing standing leg curls, then doing laying leg pressess. You could tell she was barely working it, and clearly more into her book. So then i say to myself, "why come to the gym?" I figure one of these days she will hurt herself or never see results because she is too busy reading and not focusing on the workout. I never understand these people. I could never read while doing weights or cardio. I am to busy pushing myself, breathing. I don't know maybe i'm getting irritated over nothing. I guess i just can't figure it out. These are the types of people who crowd machines because it takes them twice as long to do the sets. Anyhow, just ranting a bit, not sure why..but i feel better now.lol thanks for listening. Suzanne

One of my biggest peeves right now is people who talk over you while you're working out.

OMG.......read this.

A women came into the gym half way through my cardio (elliptical) talking on the phone. Then she got on the bike still talking on the phone. I past her to going to the weight room, she's still talking. She comes into weight room, still on the phone. I left after doing an hour of wt and past her stretching/cooling down (why????) and she was still on the phone!!

Why bother coming to the gym. I go there to escape and to have "me" time. I can understand if you are a Dr and need to be reached, but to talk for 1.5 hours????? Go to the locker room or step outside. Sigh.

I thought that was funny in a sad way.

I've seen women chat on the phone the whole time.

Grunting - that's one of the reasons i'm *so grateful* for my all-women's gym! I once went to a class at a nearby "Power Yoga" studio - its marketing was somewhat athletic and attracted more guys than the usual yoga class. Occasionally there'd be this chorus of male grunting as they tried to push into the poses, just like they were at the gym or something. It was so funny - i had to keep myself from ROFLOL! But i didn't go back - not my cup of tea.
