After all this time I've only lost 1 inch. I've been going to the gym since June. I decided to get measured again today. I only lost 1 inch in my waist. UGH! I thought by now I would see bigger changes.
I have lost 10 pounds with diet change though.
I don't understand. I thought I was working hard.

Congratulations on losing 10 pounds!
I'm upset because I was told that I was doing one of the machines wrong. The trainers are there but aren't paying attention. It's not like it's busy there. I'd say 3 people max on the machines.
I would like to lose about 10-15 pounds. I am at my ideal weight now though. I'm doing south beach diet, so basically I'm eating veggies, lean meats, whole grains and staying away from sugary, baked goods, low fat.
The South Beach is a healthy way to eat.
ditto what jean said, especially the part about how tough it is to lose those last few "vanity" pounds (the ones you want to lose because of how you want to look, after you are already at your idea weight for health). most people will have to work incredibly hard to get those vanity pounds off and it's nearly impossible to keep them off long term. not that you shouldn't try if you want, but just know that it's VERY TOUGH.
in addition to jean's suggestions, maybe try mixing up your cardio a bit, since if you are doing the same thing for a long time you are probably not burning as many calories at it anymore. you can add intervals or try some new kinds of cardio. in addition to the ones jean mentioned, maybe try swimming or biking.
When doing cardio, yes it's hard enough. I keep saying that when this weather gets better (I'm in MI) that I'm going to be rollerblading, biking and walking more. I will because that is something I enjoy.
Thanks again for your comments. :o)
