There is a cereality store in Tempe (outside of Phoenix). I haven't been there, but would like to go sometime. I LOVE cereal. I was so proud of myself yesterday at the grocery store because my favorite junky cereals (Cocoa Krispies, Smorez) were on sale and I did NOT buy any.
I am lifting legs and shoulders today. DH and I are also planning to go for a walk, I think.
Breakfast: leftover chile relleno casserole
Snack: ?
Lunch: same as breakfast or leftover chili, broccoli
Snack: ?
Dinner: Spaghetti squash alfredo (still haven't made this yet)
There was a time when I could have eaten cereal for every meal of the day. I can eat a whole box of cereal by myself in 2 days. That's why I don't keep the sugary cereals that I associate with fond childhood memories in the house. Luckily, dh doesn't like cereal that much. I used to eat Froot Loops, Frosted Flakes, Pops, Frosted Rice Krispy's, Trix, Captain Crunch... I'm starting to want cereal now! Did you read that Kellogg's, Post, and another cereal company (General Mills?) are in legal trouble for deceptive advertising about their 1/3 less sugar claims?
Breakfast - Oatmeal, banana, 1 hard-boiled egg. I REALLY WANT SUGARY CEREAL NOW!!! Someone stop the PMS cravings!
Lunch - Attending a lunch meeting. (The one that got canceled yesterday)
Dinner - Fish, sugar snap peas, pasta
I'm going to my step class this evening. Should be fun!
Yes and no. The kitchen was getting better and now it's gotten worse again. Ready for more moving saga?
The dishwasher was not functioning properly so I called the repairman to fix it. They set me up with a time for yesterday. When our countertops were installed, the dishwasher needed to be remounted so I called the company back and they said they would remount it, no problem. They came yesterday and supposedly fixed the dishwasher (I haven't run it yet so I don't know for sure) and the repair guy TOLD my husband how to mount it instead of doing it. I'm irked that he didn't just do it while he was here and DH has been very busy and hasn't mounted it yet. So, there is a huge stack of dishes because I'm waiting for him to mount it before I load it.
And then... we are redoing our cabinets ourselves (or rather, DH is redoing them himself). He's taken most of the cabinet doors off and they're in the garage either stripped or waiting to be stripped. The kitchen looks a little naked without cabinet doors. It's oddly disconcerting and I can't really explain why.
And also, the drain in the kitchen sink is leaking.
Lastly, one of our new kitchen chairs is uneven and that's going to need to be fixed. It's just feeling like it's never going to end.
*sigh*
I really wrestled w/ idea of going to the gym to at least lift weights this morning. This downtime is killing me, but I'm trying to practice what I preach. I finally decided that since I'm teaching Step both Thurs. & Fri. & doing a full weekend of intensive training that I'm better off nursing my ankle a little longer. Besides, the gym I'm doing P.T. for says that 'no-shows' are common for initial assessments so I can lift if any of my appts. tomorrow cancel/don't show. It just feels wrong to be working out so little. I'm going to take # 1 Son to the museum & planetarium today so there'll be plenty of walking.
Breakfast: hot lemon water; probably hot multi-grain cereal w/ some fruit & nuts thrown in
Lunch: no clue - maybe soup and dessert at the vegan coffeehouse near the museum (The new place I mentioned yesterday was great! It turned out to be a veggie Chinese restaurant that served the best asian food I've in years. #1 Son says its the best he's ever had. We've got to take DH there - he's not crazy about the coffeehouse's food but the Chinese place is so good I don't think he'd even notice the meat's missing.)
Supper: rice noodles & stirfry veggies in curry sauce w/ peanuts; herbal tea
Snacks: fresh veggies & ww pita w/ hummus; leftover greeks salad; popcorn; hot lemon water
Jean,
i am leaving friday morning and i'll be back on the computer monday morning. i can't wait for my weekend in Austin!
i'm doing a run/walk shortly, and then yoga tonight. i'm going to stick with my plan to do 3 min jog/1 min walk intervals even though i feel like i can do more jogging. next week i'll do 5:1, then the next week after that i'll "taper" in prep for the Gym Rats 5K and see if i can jog the whole thing.
food-
coffee, homefried potatos, southwest tofu scramble wrap
homemade corn chowder (didn't eat it for dinner last night - went to bed without dinner b/c i got home so late)
luna, orange
going to noodle place for dinner
ok, though i don't know if i'll be able to keep up with you. i've heard that starbucks will make you fair trade coffee if you request it. that would be a good time to try it out.
can you figure out a 5K route? or, if you can come up to MD, i have a 5K route i run that is mostly on a paved hike/bike trail. then we can have fair trade coffee and vegan snacks at the coffeeshop near my house. my route has a couple of pretty big hills though.
