No workout today. I woke up positively exhausted from the allergies and decided it wasn't a great idea to go on a long with DH. I'd rather save my energy/allergies for day 3 of running tomorrow. I'm trying to just lay low today and enjoy being at home.

How's the running going (allergies aside)?

It's going pretty well. I think it'd be a lot easier if my allergies weren't so bad right now. Unfortunately, the allergies trigger the asthma and that makes it that much harder. I go by time rather than distance so I'm not sure how far I'm getting. My guess is maybe 2.5 miles? I need to drive the route so I can know for sure. And of course, I'll need to map out my 5k route too. :)

I run with DH and the time seems to generally fly by. We usually try to talk about something but since it's getting warmer here, we need to be a little more cognizant on the trail (rattlers are such are coming out to play).

Sounds good, once you get past the allergies, asthma and rattlesnakes (yikes!)!

DH is a tall thin guy so running is pretty easy for him. He runs a lot slower to run with me and sometimes I feel really pathetic when I see him making these exaggerated strides so as not to get ahead of me. :P He's very sweet about it and has never once complained about going so slow.

I got to the gym late today and was .15 miles short of 3 miles when step class started so I had to get to class!

I did legs and shoulders and my third run of the week. My allergies were better and therefore my run was better. I did an all out sprint the last minute and that felt pretty good.

Still feeling a bit tired from the allergies, but having a nice day with DH so far.

Breakfast: frosted mini-wheats

PWO: vanilla protein shake w/banana, grapes, string cheese

Lunch: pinto bean burger w/cheddar cheese, broccoli, protein pudding (I discovered today that if you make the cottage cheese pudding with SF vanilla, it tastes remarkably like cheesecake)

Snack: ?

Dinner: salad, tofu and black bean burritos, chocolate souffle (if I feel up to making it)

I am pigging out today. :P

just because they are long time runners, doesn't mean they are so much faster than you. a lot of long time runner just do the same thing every week and you might well be caught up to them already. if they want to run with you, it might be worth giving it a shot to see how it works out.
