I'll need all the gym rat good vibes you guys can muster up at 2pm EST today: I'm doing my practical personal trainer certification exam. Hopefully I will have good news for you when I get home this evening!
Breakfast: bagel, smoked salmon, la la la Lunch: cold spring rolls, bowl of pho, Vietnamese lemonade Dinner: junk extraordinaire
Doesn't that feel great? I remember the first time I did Cool Running's Couch to 5K program. When I finally got up to running 3 miles, I was very proud of myself. After I hit the 3 mile mark, I started working on my speed. Then I realized that I really didn't like running at all. I accomplished my goal, felt proud that I could do it, but I didn't want to do it anymore. I really didn't enjoy it. What about you? Now that you're running, do you consider yourself a runner? Do you actually like running? Do you enjoy it as much as your other cardio workouts?
Every Monday during April and May my favorite step instructor is offering a new step class. Last night we did T-Step. I had never done it before but it was fun. We had one vertical step and one horizontal step and they formed a "T." We did a lot of the same moves that we do in her Extreme Step class on Wednesdays but adding the second step made it a little more challenging. Good class. I wonder what we're going to do next Monday. How does she come up with a new form of step and a new routine every week? She's amazing!
Dinner - my groceries are supposed to be delivered today. DH wanted to give our delivery guy one more chance.
I was chit-chatting with a trainer last night at the gym and I told him how I was ordering my groceries on-line. I was concerned that my frozen vegetables weren't as nutricious as fresh ones and he told me that they probably were and may even have MORE nutrients. Is that true? They don't look like the frozen vegetables that are in my grocer's freezer section. They come in a box and actually look like real vegetables whereas Bird's Eye vegetables sometimes look too perfect. What do you think? Could it be true that the frozen vegetables aren't so bad? The trainer said that it's more important to not over-cook them and that frozen is definitely better than canned.
Boy, I get long-winded when I'm tired...
I'm lifting weights at home today. I'm going to focus on upper-body.
I'm doing day one, week 8 of the running program and also lifting chest and triceps. I'm off today but DH and I have a bunch of errands to run. Should be a nice afternoon together.
Breakfast: luna bar
Snack: protein shake
Lunch/Dinner - will have to update because I don't know yet.
I taught (and performed)a hardcore aerobics class last night. My students are insisting that daylight savings makes me evil :) I took that as a compliment. Then we had a pretty intense regular TKD class, so I am afraid to workout today and over do it. I do have TKD tonight, hopefully it will be another good class.
Food: hot pocket
cafeteria something or another, or quiznos--it depends on if dh wants to spoil me
chex mix, I can't seem to get enough, and I only eat the cereal, dd and ds eat the rest
chicken stirfry thingy (no veggies because I have an aversion to veggies, throw up at the sight of them)
You think 6.5 mph is SLOW? Ummmm... reality check Jean. :) When I was running indoors, I started at 5.3 mph and had to slow it down to 5.0 when the runs got longer. I have no clue what speed I'm running at now since I'm running for time but you can bet it's nowhere near 6.5. And, the first part of the trail I do is gradually uphill and there are parts where I feel like I'm running in slow-mo.
I don't know if you're comparing yourself to ultra marathon runners or what, but 6.5 is pretty darn good if you ask me.

Jean,
I'm not sure how much I love running but it's a great workout so I'll keep it.
