I went to the gym last night and made an appt to see a trainer.

I see them Saturday between 3 & 4. Honestly I am not sure what I think of her. I know that is rude since I have no clue about her services. But she was seriously rude and just kind of stand offish. I know she is not supposed to be my best friend but I just got a bad vibe.

It is a free session so I will see what she has to say and than decide from there. She is not the only trainer at my gym, and I have two different Bally locations quite close to me so if I feel I may not get what I need at the one I can go to the other.

I will let you guys know how it goes. I am nervous this has been a really personal journey for me and I feel I am misunderstood on my weight loss goals and such, and I have done it myself so far, so I am torn, but willing to learn some new things.

Thanks for the advice.

If she was 'seriously rude', it doesn't matter if your session is free or if you paid $90/h, you need to alert management. Part of a trainer's job is to motivate, and you're not going to be motivated by someone you don't like and obviously has no respect for you, either..I would ask to have another trainer instead. There are tons of trainers around, you don't need to put up with crap.

Hope it goes well! Did she ask what you were looking for and tell you what she was going to do for you?

Let's just say she acted like it was taking time out of her seriously busy life to deal with me.

I didn't get a good vibe. I am going to ask for someone else. She could have been really buys, but as I said this is kind of a serious personal issue with me and her approach with me at least was wrong.

I have seen some trainers at the gym who seem very friendly as well as dedicated to what they do, I think they are able to have both sides to them.

That sounds like a good idea. I didn't want to rain on your parade and advise you to change.

i think that sounds like a good idea, to ask for someone else. you don't need someone with an attitude problem wasting your time.

If you got a bad vibe, that's not a good sign of things to come. Rapport is incredibly important when it comes to a trainer/client relationship. If my clients can't trust me and feel comfortable with me, I am not going to be extremely effective as a trainer. Of course, it's always possible that you caught her on a bad (or busy) day but keep in mind that you have no obligation whatsoever to train with her.
