Woo-hoo! I did my 5K. :) :) :) It took me about 40 minutes and we stayed on the trail the whole time. I had sort of a bad run on Tuesday and I think that's why I was nervous about doing today's full run. I wasn't in that bad of shape after it was over either. I'm on my way to a big glass of OJ and a badass breakfast burrito, but I had to post this first. Thanks to Jean for suggesting this challenge and inspiring me... I highly doubt I would have ever done it on my own.

congratulations! you should try entering a "real" 5K race - if you thought this was fun, you'll probably really get a kick out of it.

Well, I'm registered to run an 8K on May 7th so I'm trying to figure out how I need to ramp up my mileage so I can do it. (I was going to do a "real" 5K race but the only one coming up is next weekend and my mom's going to be here so that's out.)

That's great! I love it when someone makes a promise to herself and then fulfills it -- makes good on her word. That is so important. Congratulations!

8K is even better! i'm running one in July.

i think if you take a few days break after your 5K today and then start doing 5K training runs until you taper for the 8K you'll be fine.
