How about we use this thread with where we want to go, then each week we can post what we're going to do that week to help get there?

Since I'm bowing out of the looking good in swimsuits...

1) What is your motivation (inspiration, goal, mental image) by the end of May?

Well, seeing as though I don't have much control over what my body is going to do...
I want to stay toned in the areas that are not going to spread :) I want to avoid back fat as much as I can (which I don't know if that is possible).

2) What physical fitness things would you like to accomplish or be able to do at the end of May?

I started swimming and hope to do it twice a week to keep my upper body toned. I also would like to get back into step class to keep the lower body toned.

3) What about dietary changes do you want by then?

If I can get rid of the morning sickness, I would love to start eating more veggies. I like the new fda food pyramid, so I want to try to stay close to that as far as my veggies are concerned.

Ooo, good ones!

1) What is your motivation (inspiration, goal, mental image) by the end of May?
>>>> My goal is to be able to stand in front of a full-length mirror with a bathing suit on. Just me. Alone. I want to be able to look in that mirror and not have a single tear come to my eyes.

2) What physical fitness things would you like to accomplish or be able to do at the end of May?
>>>> I'd like to be benching 135lbs by the end of May.

3) What about dietary changes do you want by then?
>>>> I will be completely No-Grain by the end of May.

***Hmmm...bathing suit season!! Also, I need to do something to keep my mind off of Wes.
2) What physical fitness things would you like to accomplish or be able to do at the end of May?
***First off, I would like to have my abs back as much as possible. I'd also like to be able to do 10 straight push-ups- not the cheating kind (I have NO upper body strength- never have). And I'd also like to be able to run for longer than I can now- not sure what an appropriate goal is though!
3) What about dietary changes do you want by then?
***I definitely want to be back to eating like I did in college- lots more veggies/fruit/water. Not that I just eat carbs nowadays, but I've been not eating much, cuz of the break-up and now I'm just sort of eating random things.

Oh, I want to start swimming, too. What's realistic on starting? I guess I don't have to worry about hurting my joints like in running.

i still have my aloha resolution to feel good in a bathing suit, so that's my challenge for may. it's funny how it's gone - first i worked at it real hard and got some results. then i lost my motivation,

congrats on the capris! on saturday night we went to a potluck and i wore my skinnier-than-my-skinny jeans (the even skinnier ones i found in the back of the closet when i first started fitting into my skinny jeans). and, not only did i fit into them, i managed to dance in them, and even do knee slides in them!! i was pretty impressed with myself.

who knows how much you'll be able to do? just swim until you get so tired you start to lose your form, take a break, swim a few more laps, take a break, swim a few more laps, etc. it depends on how much time you want to spend in the pool. with breaks, you should be able to swim for at least an half hour, depending on how fast you swim and how many breaks you take, i'd bet you could swim 15 laps in a half hour.

Yay on not only fitting into your skinnier than skinny jeans but doing the one knee slide (is that when you run forward and then slide on your knees?) w/out ripping them!

I did something like the slide with the brownies troop.

I'd be surprised if I could swim that long but I'll play it by ear. Plus, the other thing w/ with swimming is what if I THINK I can swim another lap but I run out of energy??? Unlike running where you take it to a walk, with swimming, you're over your head in water!

Jean,
