How about we use this thread with where we want to go, then each week we can post what we're going to do that week to help get there?

Jean,
1) What is your motivation (inspiration, goal, mental image) by the end of May?
I want to be able to run topless! heheheh ... What I mean is, I want to be able to run in a sportsbra kind of top, no shirt. It's really hot down here in Houston, and I don't like to wear a lot of clothes when I run. And I think I look okay when I bare my belly, but still kind of self-conscious about it. I definitely want to firm things up and lose a bit of body fat.
2) What physical fitness things would you like to accomplish or be able to do at the end of May?
I want to improve my flexibility, and to increase the amount of weight I'm lifting, and maybe run a 5k in under 23 minutes. I'm not sure about the latter goal though, because I really slow down when the weather warms up. So I'll cut myself some slack, as long as I feel that I'm running pretty well.
3) What about dietary changes do you want by then?
Oh soooo many changes. Here goes:
-stop drinking alcoholic beverages. Not saying I'll never enjoy a beer again, but I'm just going to totally quit for a while. A couple of weekends ago, I added up all my beer calories over the weekend, and it was a real eye opener. And since it's hard to have just one beer, I'm better off just staying away.
-no more mindless snacking. Why must I nibble when I pack lunches for my kids?
-drink more water. Stop drinking Diet Cokes every single time I get a little thirsty.
-more fruits and veggies. I'm supposed to shoot for 5 a day, right? I've been doing pretty well here lately.
-cut back on white flour and sugar
-try one new recipe a week, in my quest to find yummy foods that are healthy.
nice goals. by the way, did you see my post below about "under armour" clothes? might be just the thing for you to invest in for running in summer heat.

Jean,
Hmmmm, I guess I did okay on this.
I'm staying relatively firm in places that should be squishy by now. I don't know what to do about back fat, but my behinny is looking okay for a prego. My legs are still looking great, and even though my arms have lost muscle, they still look good. I've just gotta keep it up.
