Has anyone else noticed how aerobics shoes have disappeared?

i haven't really paid attention to that. i used to wear specific aerobics and/or step shoes like 10 years ago -- the kind that were like semi-hightop and you could only wear indoors because they didn't have a real outsole -- but i haven't even looked for them or thought about them lately. i think crosstrainers are fine for group fitness classes.

i wear crosstrainers for group fitness, running shoes for running.

I can't even find crosstrainers that I like. My favorite were New Balance 626 but I can't find them anymore.

I wear running shoes for pretty much every activity.

i wonder if new balance updated the 626 and calls it something else now or really discontinued that line.

I liked Galyans but Dick's bought it out.

I find running shoes to be the only kind with enough forefoot cushioning.

The only aerobic or "studio shoes" that I know of are by Ryka and have to be ordered online or off of ebay.

Jean, if I come across any 626's in the stores up here would you like me to get them for you? Just let me know your size and I'll mail them down.

that's odd, usually running shoes have more cushioning in the heel and little in the forefoot and cross-trainers have more in the forefoot.
