I'll just jump in ...

Exercise:

ran 4.5 miles this a.m.
weights -- chest, shoulders, and triceps

Food:

breakfast -- poached egg, thin slice of lean ham, and half a piece of lowfat cheese on a wholewheat english muffin. (sort of inspired by the egg mcmuffin, but hopefully healthier.)

snack -- orange

lunch -- turkey sandwich, carrots, and a banana

And I haven't planned the rest of my meals and snacks for the day yet. I need to get better about planning if I'm going to make this work!

Maybe for dinner we'll do something with chicken breasts. And black beans and rice. Need to throw in a veggie or two ... hmmm ... must go check freezer ...

Amending my food journal already...

After our 4 mile hike, I had the distinct feeling that a proten shake wouldn't be terribly satisfying so I opted for the Optimum Power Breakfast Cereal. One of you (I think it's somerandomthoughts) eats this and that's why I bought it last week. I'd never had it before but it's pretty good stuff. I love my Kashi GoLean Crunch but it's nice to have another healthy alternative.
