Hi Jean,
I know we were talking about our orthotics not long ago and I thought i'd update you on my visit to see the doctor. He said that it is possible that your arches could change over time, therefore requiring new orthotics. He didn't put a time frame on how long they last but did say that if you are experiencing any new foot pain to have the orthotics reevaluated. I've been noticing that my right foot has been killing me even when i wear the orthotics at the gym..but he suggest i wear them around the house as well. This is hard for me since i run around bear foot all the time. But the interesting thing is I just recently started going to a chiropractor for ongoing left hip pain, as well as middle back pain. He said that my right foot was shorter than the other leg by 2inches. He has adjusted me twice so far and i'm not kidding you, my right foot pain has almost disappeared. My hip/back pain is also much improved. I can't believe it! I was skeptical of chiropractors but now i am becoming a quick believer in them. My chiropractor is out of town for a week so I hope the pain won't return back to before. But i will continue to let you know how it goes. He felt that i was compensating for the pain in my left hip therefore everything was off balance. Very interesting..i hope it continues to improve. It's nothing short of miraculous that something as simple as a little adjustment to my spine is helping this chronic pain. Anyhow, i just thought i'd let ya know about the orthotics. Take care. I know! I didn't even notice it. My husbands mouth just dropped to the floor when i told him. He didn't believe me. You would think i would notice the difference in height, but i guess my body just compensated for it. I'm hoping continued chiropractic adjustments will rid me of all my pain. It's funny too...most of my pain in my back was middle, left side....my hip was left side...and when my arches started bothering me it was left foot. You would've thought my doctor would have put the full picture together sooner. He finally told me to go see the chiroprator, before we do another cortosone shot in my hip. I didn't want the first one, but at that point i was in such pain I was going to do anything to make it better. And look at it now...it didn't help in the long run and i'm back to square one. I just hope this is the right direction to go in now. Suzanne
