Are you working out this weekend?

I taught piano all morning/early afternoon, then bf and I went to the gym and did incline walking and ran intervals. Then we did a few sets of leg presses (I pressed 190 pounds!) and bicep/tricep/abs.

Jean, that sounds like a recipe for insanity. I am so not cut out for parenting...

No intentional exercise yesterday but we shopped all day for house stuff. I ate horribly so I won't even post it. :) Did a 4 mile run this morning and my time was 3 and a half minutes faster overall than last time I ran it. We're staying in today... DH is doing some practice cooking for our mom's brunch next Sunday and I've got some client stuff to work on. Of course, there's the usual laundry and prepping for the week to come, not to mention several episodes of CSI to catch up on.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday!

Hi Everyone! I've been lurking here for a week or so,this seems like a good first post....I went to the gym, 25 hard minutes on the elliptical, some walking on the track, and my full body circuit of weights. I'm stuck with a rather ill-equipped gym in a small town, so I only have access to nautilus machines and dumbells, no benches or barbells in sight! And don't even get me started on the disapointingly low intesity fitness classes.....but still, I love working out and it is free! This seems like a great board, I'm glad to be here!

welcome!! sounds like you are making good use of your limited gym resources. hey, and at least it's free! it's better than PAYING for a gym without good equipment or classes (which i've done)

hope you stick around and chime in any time.

I'm thinking about trying to eat clean during the week and save the treats for the weekend. It sounds good in theory but has anyone ever done it successfully? Yesterday's food was particularly atrocious...went like this:

Breakfast: buckwheat pancakes w/butter & real maple syrup
Lunch: spinach salad with croutons and avocado chunks and a CAN OF BEEFARONI
Dinner: caesar salad, eggplant parm on white pasta (there really wasn't ANYTHING healthy at this restaurant)

On the other hand, since adding the extra weekend workout, I feel like I can treat myself more then because I won't feel totally disgusting by Sunday night/Monday morning.

Thoughts?

i usually eat better during the week, eat a bit worse on weekends, eat some treats, and it works well for me. i think it's a good idea to plan some more lenient meals, or days, or specific treats, into your week - that's a lot easier to maintain than trying to eat as well as you want to eat every single day of the week, every week of the month, etc.

I know people it works for.
