I woke up late this morning and had to run out of the house without time to fix my breakfast or lunch and ended up having a protien shake for breakfast (I HATE those!!). Doe any of you have any healthy food ideas that I can keep around the house for times that I am running late and don't have time to fix anything? Thanks

I make double batches of healthy (& very tasty muffins) and freeze the extra. They only take a few moments to thaw in the microwave. You can't beat fresh fruit. I also keep a variety of nuts, dried fruit & granola on hand & just throw some together in a plastic container & give it a shake to mix then eat it on the go. Instant oatmeal w/ frozen fruit (I briefly nuke the fruit to thaw it a little while the water's heating) is quick & easy. Partially thawed frozen (or of course fresh) fruit w/ a dollop of yoghurt & granola on top was one of my faves before I gave up dairy. And of course I always have a Luna or Clif bar & a can of V-8 in my bag for emergencies.

things i grab for quick breakfasts or snacks are luna bars and dried fruit/nut mix. cans of healthy soup or veggie chili are good to keep around to grab for lunch if you have a way to warm them.

I have a banana and a piece of cheese, takes less than 2 minutes to eat, and if necessary, the banana can also be easily eaten while driving. :)

I like Luna bars, too. I also like Kashi's new bars.

For breakfast, I don't mind eating dry cereal, so I just pour a serving of Kashi Go Lean into a baggie and munch on it while I'm driving. I also love Luna bars but try to eat those only when I'm really in a rush. Other than that, I go for the typical standbys like apples, bananas, yogurt, and cottage cheese.

For lunch and/or snacks, it's harder to just grab-and-go a fully satisfying meal. I usually take some snacks that will tide me over until I can get to a real meal - usually a bag of pre-cut veggies, some Kashi TLC crackers, or fresh fruit will do the job.
