Know any good running music? I like to run with the beat. I run about a 11/12 min mile and could try to up that.
Thanks,
Michelle

Someone else mentioned the Black Eyed Peas (on TBB). I am more of a country girl, so I don't know what song that is, but I think it is in a commercial. I figured today on the "mill" that at a 6mph run, I need music at 160bpm. Atleast that is helpful...I think!?
oh, ps. I do not want to run to country...I'd rather drink beer and go honky-tonkin'. So some more uppity music, if you have any ideas.
Thanks!

i don't really pay attention to the bpm of the music i run to, i just pick what's motivating. i can usually find some kind of pattern to run to most songs i like - you know how you can find a rhythm within a song even if it's not one footstrike per beat. if you really want something that's 160 bpm you could probably find a hi/lo cd from dynamix or powermusic that stays around 160 for the whole cd.
what music motivates me depends on my mood. a lot of times i listen to speed metal or "classic metal", probably most of you all wouldn't be into that. (but who was it that agreed with me that "back in black" is a great workout song?) last time i went running i was all about jimmy eat world, which i hadn't listened to in a long time. i pretty much listened to the same song (sweetness) over and over for my whole run. if you like indie rock, i highly recommend their album "bleed american" - it's a good album and there are several great running songs on it. i've also listened to the song "the middle" over and over for a whole run before. once i listened to white zombie's "more human than human" over and over for a whole run. i like that black eyed peas song, that's a good one. i've been meaning to put that on my ipod. i always like "rock your body" by justin timberlake for exercising to. when i used to run back in the late 90s there was one backstreet boys tape (yes tape! i'm slow to pick up new technology) that i nearly wore out while running. it was the one with all their first hits, like "i want it that way."
