Where to put keys when I run?

Hope some of you runners can help me.

Sometimes I run on the treadmill and usually don't have to worry about this, but since the weather is nice now, I'm going to start running outside. However, I don't know what to do with my keys while I run. Most of my workout clothes don't have pockets. I know they sell armbands for such a purpose, but I run with my IPod mini strapped to my arm as it is and I don't want to be packing like Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. Are there any other key-holding devices available for running/sports in general?

can you narrow it down to one key? i usually narrow it down to one key and put it in the key pocket of my running shorts, but you can also tie it on to your shoelace or your pants if they have a drawstring waistband.

That's what I do, I only bring the house key and I tie it to my shoe.

They do make a key holder that velcros to your shoe laces for credit cards and keys but if it's small, I'd do what Jen and Brooke recommend and tie it to my shoelaces.

Nope, to get into my apartment, I need the scanner thing for the front door, and both keys to unlock the actual door, if my roommate goes out and locks the deadbolt- which she'd be dumb enough to do, even if I told her not to.

Could you leave everything in your car and just run with a single car key laced to your shoe?

You could check the local sports store for a water bottle carrier that you wear around your waist. Some of these have pockets just big enough for an ID or keys.

then i would get a velcro key holder pocket that goes on to your shoe laces, that should fit everything you need. they are inexpensive and usually have reflective material on them to help with safety too.
