What would you all like to work on together next?

I have to say you all motivate me to do things I've never done or to push myself harder.

Good question. I used to say, I've always wanted to run a marathon, but I've actually now completed two, so I've had to come up with new ones. So here goes...
"I've always wanted to...have nice arms." I know it sounds vain, but I have. I mean thin, muscular arms that make people comment on them. I have a lot of muscle definition in my legs, but my arms have always been a little lacking. SO there goes, my new goal.

I think the group challenges are great... I'm just not sure if I'll have enough time before surgery to actually accomplish anything substantial. My focus right now is to keep running even though this heat makes it tough. We've broken triple digits and that just makes for not-so-nice running. I think I would rather get heat stroke running outside than attempt to run on a treadmill (not that I will actually do that :).

I was even debating whether or not I should push myself all that harder since I'm going to essentially lose that progress with the recovery period anyway. I'm just going to keep at it and do the best I can.

Oh, I totally with you on that. I would love just to be fast, strong, and agile. Nothing specific, just those three things.

I've had that goal for a few months.

but if you gain progress before surgery, then when you regress you'll just regress to where you are now and then you'll be even.

anyway, i think we should do a longer term challenge anyway. i'm into running challenges now. i'd like to have as a goal to do a 10 mile or even half marathon in the fall.

Well maybe we could do an endurance challenge. That way, for those of us who cannot run, everyone can still participate. We could pick our own "event" and work on the ultimate endurance challenge for it. What do ya'll think of that?

That sounds good.

Right, I understand that. It's just hard for me to commit to a running challenge at this point as I'm limited on the amount of time where it's possible to run outside. I don't have the luxury of getting to wake-up for a little bit before going out for an hour run. If I want to run, I need to literally put my feet right into the shoes next to my bed. Additionally, I usually do my long runs on Sundays and it just seems evil and wrong to be getting up at 5 a.m. on a sunday. :( I need a break.

I'll think it over as far as what I can do for a challenge that is feasible.

Maybe we could set our own challenges since you and Paula will have to work around all the things in your life.
