You could force your lunges to take in more oxygen, but I don't think that your blood would neccessarily absorb it. Right? I don't know much about this, but if you force yourself to breathe in more, your heart does not actually pump all that oxygen in unless your heart is beating fast (because of exercise). Maybe that is the difference...

I guess if you took in more than you'd need, it would make sense that your body would just breathe it out.
