Since I'm such a numbers geek and I need to know how far I've run (sense of accomplishment), do you think it would be good for me to get a pedometer?

I love, love, love my Garmin. It was about 100.00 at amazon.com and it uses GPS so it is really accurate. It tells you time, speed, distance, and pace. It can also be programed to tell you incline, sea level, mile splits ect. I download all of my information to a web site www.motionbased.com They will map out the route you ran and keep track of your splits for you. It's awesome
