It's humid here too, but not hot today. It continues to be overcast and rains off & on. I think we got a few hours of sun last week but I missed it due to work. :-P I've lucked out w/ P.T at the gym lately. Just as class attendance begins to drop at this time of year so does the number of people wanting P.T. Although i love training independantly I don't love working as a staff trainer, so frankly I'm thrilled that I have no appts. at the gym today. Now that they've hired others I foresee my having few bookings there since they're so few people needing our services. Not only do I get paid better to work independantly but I have more control over what I can offer and the clients are more committed. So, I have my standing appt. w/ a long time independant client and two classes - weight training & Body Combat. I'll spend the a.m. practicing/memorizing BC but it won't be much of a workout as I'll just 'mark' it. (Marking is a term we used in dance that refers to going through the motions w/o any real effort.)

Breakfast: oatmeal w/ berries, apples & Silk; jasmine green tea

Lunch: rice noodles w/ veggies; tea

Supper: homemade squash soup; ww pita w/ cracked chile hummus

Snacks: fresh fruit; frozen strawberry soy dessert; homemade trail mix; soy chai latte

why are the kids off today?

i like the weather today. it made coming home from hawaii a lot better to find summer here! i decided to prolong my vacation all summer by turning my back yard into a hawaii-esque retreat. as soon as i got home from the airport, i washed all our yard furniture, the gas grill, and the cooler (for iced drinks) and i also dug holes to "permanently" install our two tiki torches. i had grilled portobellos and a veggie dog and watermelon for dinner. next weekend i'm going to get a couple of lounge chairs with cushions, bamboo beach mats, another chair to replace the one that broke last year, an umbrella for our table, a slip n slide, and hopefully tiki glasses if i can find them. (they were everywhere in hawaii, but i didn't want to carry them home.) i was considering turning a portion of the yard into a beach with sand, but i think that would be too messy with people and the dog dragging sand into the house all the time.

i'm going to the gym at lunch for the first time in a long time! i have to get back in shape. i guess i better lift weights. i feel like my arms are made out of dough. tonight i teach cardio kickboxing and will probably die of exhaustion.

i also have to get my eating back in shape...

breakfast- watermelon, kona coffee fresh from kona, multigrain toast with earth balance, banana

lunch- fruit salad, probably some kind of wrap.

snack- yellow pepper strips, tabouli, chips and salsa

dinner- probably grilled veggie burger wrapped in lettuce (no bun) and grilled portobellos.

I am forced to take the day off from the gym because of the swelling in my foot. Yesterday afternoon it got a lot worse, and I was getting very dizzy and also vomited for some reason, so I went to the only walkin clinic that was open on a Sunday night and got this useless doctor who gave me this "I can't do anything for you" schpiel. So this morning, I went to another walk in clinic, and they gave me hydroxyzine, which I have been prescribed before for mosquito bite swelling, but I can't take it till I finish teaching, because it will knock me out. Tomorrow I'll try to make it to spinning if the swelling has gone down.

Breakfast: banana & babybel

Will update food later.
