I barely slept last night, either, so now I feel like a zombie! I'm teaching sports conditioning class today and doing pilates after, though I don't know what good it is to start it now and stop doing it in three weeks when school ends.

The Smartzone bars are good... too good. We got a whole bunch of boxes of them at work and have been giving them away. I ate way too many on one particular day. The key lime pie is my favorite. :)

I know! My work was giving them away and about a week later, I came across a half a box of brownie crunch that was left over. The manager told me I can have them. I'm being very careful not eating them up in one day!

Poll the members. Make up a questionaire and get them to fill it out over the next couple weeks, then design your class based on the needs of the majority. Talk to your peers AND the desk staff as well. You say you don't like circuit but they do. Don't forget you're paid to meet their needs. I HATE teaching HIIT, but I give them exactly what they want and do it w/ a smile on my face. Its a genuine smile to because although I don't like the format they do and seeing them work hard & enjoy themselves balances things out for me. I fear you may be making a mistake common to many instructors by trying to please everyone by offering a little bit of everything. Find out what they like most/most of them like, balance that w/ what you do well and go from there.

yes, you are being paid to meet their needs, but if you don't like what you are teaching that's going to affect how well you teach it.

You've hit the nail on the head about trying to please too many people. I'm better than I was when I started at this, though!

You're getting paid to provide the members w/ a safe, effective workout that results in them leaving the room feeling better about themselves mentally & physically. There's nothing in the job description that indicates you have to do everything they do, so don't worry about walking around. In my experience the best insructors only participate in part of the class & spend the rest of the time walking around connecting w/ the participants.

Food journal update:

Snack: protein shake

Lunch: lean ground beef burrito with jack cheese and high protein tortilla, broccoli, brownie

Snack: detour bar

Dinner: chicken and veggies (probably salad), protein pudding

Even though I was ridiculously stiff and sore from the 5 mile run this morning, I somehow mustered the energy to paint the remainder of the kitchen stuff. I also cleaned like a madwoman. We haven't cleaned "for real" in several weeks because of all the construction and stuff, but I finally couldn't stand it anymore. Our upstairs (office and bedroom) is still a crazy mess, but at least one place in my house is clean. I'm going it alone tonight as DH is spending the night with his buddy at a new Chik-Fil-A that's opening so they can get coupons for a chicken sandwich a week for a year. My hubby is a little nuts. :)

I'm getting a little better in that with things like ball class, could still be better.

I did step and yoga this morning. Nobody showed up for kb, so I didn't have to teach-ah, summer. Had a doc appointment, and everything was good. I've gained sooooo much weight. I had no idea, but what should I expect with the way I've been eating.

Food:
kashi golean crunch
string cheese, banana
cookies
ww spaghetti
yogurt
grilled chicken, green beans
mcd's french fries (craving, how do I control these?)
