The irony of it....

I think I mentioned in a previous journal that I got the food tracking software Dietpower and I've been using it since Sunday. I've been playing around with my macros as a bit of an experiment. Since Sunday, I have deliberately eaten so that my protein and fat percentages have been higher than my carbs. Surprisingly (or maybe not), I actually feel quite a bit better and like I have more energy. I also don't have nearly the cravings that I usually do. Unfortunately, I miss my whole wheat bread! :)

That is interesting! I'm kinda on the Zone Diet and that's pretty much the crux of the diet - lot's of protein and "good" carbs (most fruit & veggies), with "good" fat (olive oil, nuts, etc). No, or little breads, pasta, etc. I do have more energy when I stick to the diet, but, like you, I miss my ww bread! That's when I cave . . .

Before I started doing this, pretty much the majority of my carb intake came from fruits/veggies and whole grains. I haven't eaten a piece of white bread or eaten white rice in a very long time - my taste buds actually prefer the whole grain varieties of pretty much anything. I love, love, love my whole wheat bread, whole wheat pita/pasta, etc. *sigh* Sad that it makes me eat like a fiend.

I found eating that way helped me, too.
