i got a very strong compliment on my work at my job yesterday - that was cool. one of the reasons i love my job is that i'm good at it - it feels really good to have a job that i'm good at because
Hmm...no compliments from anyone else, since you don't really get compliments babysitting. Basically, the expectation is that you are able to accurately decipher every cry and scream, and magically keep them from crying and screaming, even better than the parents themselves- um, yeah, I'm not Mary freakin' Poppins. I think I'm a pretty darned good babysitter- much more competent than a lot of the help that's out there. But seriously, NO ONE is perfect, including parents. But for approx. $500 a week (tax-free), I can't really complain too much. It's just kind of a thankless job, from the adult end. The kids are what make it worth it.
But I definitely feel like the lifting is starting to pay off, (and I'm sure lugging around toddlers all day adds to that!), cuz some things just seem easier now. I also am starting to notice that my abs are looking a lot better!! Yay!!!
I'm also very proud of myself for taking up all the sports/activities that I have recently, like kayaking, biking and rock-climbing.
Wow, bragging is very new to me so this is kind of hard. My most favorite and recent compliment was from my coworker, who said, "How come we're the same height but your butt is higher?" All those squats and lunges seem to be paying off! :) And I'm very proud that I have been able to keep up with my healthy lifestyle for more than three months. This is the longest I have gone without falling back into poor eating and not exercising, so I'm actually surprised I have been able to keep this up for so long.

Jean,
This was Kel's idea--I keep forgetting to ask. I think it's great because we rarely focus on what we do well, only where we fall short.
