even though teaching will never be my favorite thing, it definitely gets more fun and easier as you get more used to it. so yes, you will definitely enjoy it more as you get more experienced.
I think it's new as of this summer. I saw a sign for it in the bathroom there, one of the instructors told me about it when I took the Quick Start classes, and it's on the website calendar. It's at no extra charge or anything- just the normal fee to go to the gym.
i agree, that when you really REALLY love doing something in and of itself, you don't really care if you suck, it's still something you enjoy. i feel that way about surfing. i'm perfectly happy to get out there every day for the rest of my life and paddle for waves and try to surf whether or not i ever get any better at it. i had fun that day i went surfing with jean when i didn't even catch one wave!
on the other hand, skateboarding is totally different for me - i like skateboarding, but i guess i don't LOVE it. i get really frustrated sucking so bad at it, and i feel like i'd like it more if i were better at it. at least part of the enjoyment i get out of it is the challenge of trying to get better at it. so right now, it's not so much that i enjoy skateboarding as i enjoy the challenge of trying to learn to skateboard. the same can be true about teaching - some people might just LOVE it in and of itself, others might enjoy the challenge, other might enjoy the structured commitment, others might enjoy the feeling of being a competent teacher but not necessarily enjoy the feeling of struggling through the learning process, etc.
i think those things that you truly love so much that you'd love doing them no matter what are very few and far between, and some people can't point to anything they feel that way about. i feel that way about dancing and surfing and i can't really think of anything else.
