Good morning everyone! I'm posting at this ungodly hour because I am getting ready to catch the train into Toronto from my bf's house for Can-Fit-Pro. Today I do a 9 hour spinning certification course with Dixie Douville and Angie Sturtevant.

Last night I got a very disturbing phone call. It was from a gym that I had applied to for a job..she was doing some pre-interview screening. I told her that I did live an hour's drive away but I would soon be moving to the area and did not mind the drive for the time being. I also wouldn't be able to commit to a 40 hour week, but I could commit for 2 full days or 5x a week mornings. The interviewer's demeanor immediately changed when hearing where I lived and basically refused to have anything more to do with me, "I'm sorry, where you live is a real liability for you." WHAT THE #$%@?!?!!??! I already told her I was willing to drive in and would be moving to the area, she may as well have said, "I'm sorry, I can't hire you because you're Chinese."

I figure I probably don't want to work at such a place anyways. :P

Breakfast: smoked salmon, cream cheese, spinach bagel

I gotta go catch that train!

You're right, you are probably better off without that job.

Today, I am going to do some abs, and maybe some upper body. I am really aggravated because of my sprain. I was really looking forward to running.

Breakfast: Atkins Low Carb Breakfast Bar, coffee
* I really need to go to the grocery store today.

Snack: Low Carb Peach Yogurt

Lunch: Salad, low fat cheese

Dinner: Grilled orange roughy, salad, grilled eggplant, iced tea w/ splenda

I'm going to print your suggestions out and see if I can match anything up on the menu.

Look at what a social butterfly you're becoming. That's awesome. So many new moms become somewhat less social, which tends to make them feels isolated and like they're losing their sense of identity. You'll find meeting w/ other moms is not only good socially but you benefit so much from others' parenting experience. Even better that you hooked up w/ a fellow gym rat. Good for you for getting out & about!

Do you like chickpeas? Chana masala is a staple Indian food for me, as are samosas (I LOVE samosa).

they might have a problem in the winter with a lot of instructors calling in and saying they can't make it because of bad weather. i know that's a problem at our gym and i imagine our winters are more mild than in toronto. the instructors that live close by generally can make it but those that live farther won't drive in bad weather.

i love indian food! one thing you will appreciate about indian food, authentic indian food at least, is that they are really into separating different dishes. they aren't into food touching either.

indian restaurants will call any dish with veggies and/or meat served in a sauce over rice a "curry" - most won't be flavored like the curry powder you buy at the supermarket. for instance, if you like eggplant, baigan bharta is really good and doesn't taste like curry powder.

biryanis are rice dishes without sauce. sort of like fried rice at a chinese restaurant, but not fried.

the meat in indian food is generally chicken. they aren't much for
