Good morning everyone! I'm posting at this ungodly hour because I am getting ready to catch the train into Toronto from my bf's house for Can-Fit-Pro. Today I do a 9 hour spinning certification course with Dixie Douville and Angie Sturtevant.
Last night I got a very disturbing phone call. It was from a gym that I had applied to for a job..she was doing some pre-interview screening. I told her that I did live an hour's drive away but I would soon be moving to the area and did not mind the drive for the time being. I also wouldn't be able to commit to a 40 hour week, but I could commit for 2 full days or 5x a week mornings. The interviewer's demeanor immediately changed when hearing where I lived and basically refused to have anything more to do with me, "I'm sorry, where you live is a real liability for you." WHAT THE #$%@?!?!!??! I already told her I was willing to drive in and would be moving to the area, she may as well have said, "I'm sorry, I can't hire you because you're Chinese."
I figure I probably don't want to work at such a place anyways. :P
Breakfast: smoked salmon, cream cheese, spinach bagel
I gotta go catch that train!

Is that even legal in Canada--to discriminate based on where you live???
What an odd phone call!
Yay, I'm so glad you're getting out and about! That new workout group sounds great.
i love indian food! one thing you will appreciate about indian food, authentic indian food at least, is that they are really into separating different dishes. they aren't into food touching either.
indian restaurants will call any dish with veggies and/or meat served in a sauce over rice a "curry" - most won't be flavored like the curry powder you buy at the supermarket. for instance, if you like eggplant, baigan bharta is really good and doesn't taste like curry powder.
biryanis are rice dishes without sauce. sort of like fried rice at a chinese restaurant, but not fried.
the meat in indian food is generally chicken. they aren't much for
