Good morning everyone! I'm posting at this ungodly hour because I am getting ready to catch the train into Toronto from my bf's house for Can-Fit-Pro. Today I do a 9 hour spinning certification course with Dixie Douville and Angie Sturtevant.

Last night I got a very disturbing phone call. It was from a gym that I had applied to for a job..she was doing some pre-interview screening. I told her that I did live an hour's drive away but I would soon be moving to the area and did not mind the drive for the time being. I also wouldn't be able to commit to a 40 hour week, but I could commit for 2 full days or 5x a week mornings. The interviewer's demeanor immediately changed when hearing where I lived and basically refused to have anything more to do with me, "I'm sorry, where you live is a real liability for you." WHAT THE #$%@?!?!!??! I already told her I was willing to drive in and would be moving to the area, she may as well have said, "I'm sorry, I can't hire you because you're Chinese."

I figure I probably don't want to work at such a place anyways. :P

Breakfast: smoked salmon, cream cheese, spinach bagel

I gotta go catch that train!

That's BS (pardon my french)! They CANNOT reject you based on where you live. You should report them to Labour Standards.

No workout today (I've had a brutal week fitness-wise so I really need a day off)... well, except maybe practicing/memorizing 'Power', but that's not much of a workout at home. Got MAJOR grocery shopping and housework on the agenda.

Breakfast: multigrain bagel topped w/ hemp nut & flax seed sprinkled over local organic cinnamon spiced honey (my lone deviance from veganism).

Lunch: not a clue

Supper: chard w/ olive oil, garlic & maybe a sprinkle of nutrtitional yeast; salad (spring greens, bell pepper, red onion, mango, kiwi & hemp nut drizzled w/ sesame ginger dressing).

Snacks: fresh fruit and veggies; some sort of freshly baked goodie from the organic wholesaler.

Holy crud! I am so sorry. You are much better off working someplace else.

All the Indian places here offer a buffet at lunch. If your place has this its definitely the way to go - you can see & smell it before trying it & can move on to something else if you don't like it.

Samosas are like the Indian version of eggrolls.

Yuck! What an awful place. Consider yourself lucky that you got away before investing too much time in it.

Went to work this morning and have to go back this afternoon. Did biceps and back plus 30 minutes on the EFX.

I'm very frustrated with work because I cannot seem to cash my paycheck. Insufficient funds. My boss is telling me to deposit it at my own bank and not the gym's bank and it should go through okay. I think she's feeding me a line of bull, but I guess I'll give it a try (and give the gym the bill for NSF fees that I may be charged). Blah. My attitude is terrible about work. Things are just going downhill fast. I should quit immediately, but feel a sense of obligation to my clients and am not sure what to do. Next paycheck is due Monday so we'll see what happens.

Yeah, that's what I've done with a couple already. It's just hard to go into work knowing I might never get paid for my time. :(

Well Dixie Douville and Angie Sturtevant didn't end up teaching the course because apparently Angie is an avid mountain biker, took a huge crash and is still in hospital. :( The instructor was a Montreal guy named Steve Prudhomme, he tended to go off on tangents but was a really good instructor. So, the good news is, I'm now a certified Spinning instructor!

The bad part of the day was...there was almost no food there. Steve only gave us 30 min for lunch and the course was taking place in the South building of the convention centre, which requires a 15 min walk through the North building to the street. So most people were stuck with the snack bar inside the convention hall, which had good healthy sandwiches and bagels and fat free yogurt and fruit cups...except they ran out of all bread, so I ended up having sandwich fixings (2 small slices of turkey, an even smaller slice of cheese, and iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, sprouts and cukes) on a plate. Plus a yogurt and a cookie. I ate both my Luna bars and he didn't do the demo class until the final hour, which was terrible for me as I tend to get loopy from lack of food very easily. fortunately the other days I have nice long breaks so this shouldn't be happening again.

Anyways, that was my day!

Oh, and thanks for your confirmation about that crazy gym. I didn't know if I was being overly offended.
