Yes, it's a bit of a twist on the old comfort food question. What is your favorite gym-ratty comfort food? What is the food that just makes you feel better without the stomach cramping and the Oh-no-I-blew-it feeling the next day? :)

Hmmm... I have a few favorites. My banana and peanut butter wrap is oddly comforting. I also have a recipe for "healthier" mac n' cheese which is actually pretty decent nutritionally, but I don't have it very often because I limit my starchy carbs. My husband makes a great chicken pesto pizza which feels like junk food, but isn't. We also have various recipes for bean and/or veggies burgers and I love those as well (but again, don't eat them terribly often because of the starchy carbs).

Any kind of fruit. My favorite comfort food is clementines in the winter and strawberries in the summer.

Sadly, I can't think of any foods that cause stomach cramping, making me feel sick foods (unless it has salmonella or some other poison!).

I would have to say that dark chocolate for sure is at the top of that list for me. I love it and for some strange reason, don't feel all that guilty after I eat a whole bar, which I know is not a good thing. I also like eating sugar free jello and sugar free ice cream bars. I wish I liked more fruit but I just don't.

Alright now, I made something like this several months ago from the Body For Life cookbook and it was AWFUL. I mean, just gnarly. I think it had cooked oatmeal, milk, chocolate protein powder and Splenda.

I didn't even finish it. And I have even convinced myself that cottage cheese blended with milk and sugar free pudding mix is a tasty dessert. :P
