I think I'm in decent shape--that I can work really hard in classes, did DCAC w/out problem, work hard at the gym.

You all know me too well and you've hit the hammer on the head.

That is so cool that she is going to do that for you. I think that is what I need because I feel like I know how to lift and what to lift and how much cardio to do, but I would like somebody to just tweek my routine for different results. You're really lucky to have somebody do that for you...somebody realiable. The trainers at my gym actually follow me around and ask me for pointers, that is pretty sad!

Hey Paula, I'm happy to look at your program and suggest some changes. You can email me through my profile if you want. :)

Have you thought of being a trainer? It would be right up your alley and you'd be great at it.

Have you read of training by phone?

That's interesting that it was in AFAA because it was also in ACE's monthly magazine too. Yeah, I've thought about it. I'm honestly not even sure how to incorporate that sort of thing into my practice. So much of what I do is rapport-building and that's harder to do over the phone. My clients want me to come over and train with them so I'm not sure what business we'd have over the phone.

Shortly after we moved last spring, I interviewed with a company that provides in-home personal training and they were going to implement coaching by phone. You'd meet with the client once and then do everything over the phone. I honestly didn't care for the idea. When you're dealing with people (women especially), you've got to be sensitive to the fact that weight can be a very scary issue and there HAS to be trust involved. I certainly wouldn't feel terribly comfortable opening up after meeting someone once. My clients need to be able to feel vulnerable with me and you build that by meeting with them over and over.

Just because I can't go 1 day without saying something Jonny-related, I thought I'd share.

I was thinking it would work well with gym rats, like us because we know what we're doing but would like help here and there to tweak it, or put together a new program ever 2-3 months.

GREAT! I'll take you up on that as soon as I get back into a routine after the baby. My biggest goal is to build speed and endurance for tkd, while not getting bulky (i'm one of those women who do build muscle).

I can't wait, thanks!
