It's so hard when you can't get enough sleep! And, what a bummer about the gym clock yesterday.:-(

I'm doing to do a cardio video this morning and I'm supposed to do abs/glutes but I may just do glutes. The right side of my ab has been bugging me and I unfortunately aggravated it yesterday with a single hamstring on the ball exercise. I think it probably needs to rest a little. I may try what I have scheduled and stop if it hurts.

Breakfast: protein pancakes w/blueberries

Snack: protein shake

Lunch: Meeting a friend for lunch at a vegetarian buffet restaurant. Whether or not I'll eat again today depends on how much I eat there.

What's up w/ several folks here foregoing eating later in the day? Millcreek, Jen, Kel? I've don't mean to butt in or be judgemental, especially because everyone's body functions differently, but I'm really curious now. As a rule it's important to eat every 2-3 hours to maintain blood sugar & insulin levels which keeps energy levels steady, the body processing food more efficiently, staving off hunger pangs and cravings, etc. I'm not saying what you're choosing do is wrong (DH does something similar - if he eats breakfast he becomes sleepy & lethargic, so he only has a bite at lunch then eats fairly steady thru the evening), I'm just curious as to what's prompting so many on this board to arrange their eating in a way that's considered counter-effective to weight maintenance for the majority of the population.

I feel for you, Millcreek. That's one thing I really don't miss. Not that I sleep any better now, but at least its just me. Hopefully tonight is better, that she'll sleep like the pretty little angel she appears to be.

I've got 3 classes on my plate today: half & half (cardio/weights); weightlifting; kickboxing. And, as always as of late, continuing to work on my BTS classes.

Breakfast: oatmeal/flax w/ peaches, mango & vanilla Silk; hot lemon water

Lunch: might grab a Dragon Bowl from the vegan place by the gym. The menu says, "Organic kale and chard tossed with a creamy miso ginger dressing, shredded cabbage and carrots, served on warm rice, topped with shredded beets, hemp seeds, alfalfa sprouts, cucumber and marinated tofu" I say, "Mmmmmm..."

Supper: vegggie samosa w/ tamarind chutney; spinach salad w/ mandarin orange wedges, red onion & sliced almonds drizzled w/ sesame-ginger dressing

Snacks: tortilla chips w/ pineapple salsa; carrots & roasted garlic hummus; soy chai latte

i KNOW i've discussed my eating habits in this regard several times before but i can't find any of my prior posts. basically, the short version is that "rule" doesn't apply to me. i do better when i follow my natural eating patterns, which is fewer meals per day.

i also have a pet peeve that the indoctrination that "mini meals" are always better causes people not to trust their own instincts on what's best for them. among gym rat/healthy types there's a lot of social pressure not to skip breakfast or to eat 6 mini meals a day -- it's treated as this black letter law that IS true, period.

This is not something I regularly practice because normally, you'll find me eating every 3 hours on the dot (and maybe even sooner). But, it's likely that I'll have a larger lunch since we're going out, and calorically, I need to make up for that by eating less later on in the day.

I don't know about the rest but I can't eat dinner because I don't have time.
