How often do you sit down to eat, with nothing to do but maybe talk w/ someone, set table, using utensils, etc.?

I have to say that my DH and I almost never sit down together at a table for a meal. We always have something going on at supper time so my daughter eats before us and then we eat in front of the TV at 8 or later after whatever athletic activity we are doing is over. It doesn't really bother me except that I wish we actually ate with my daughter more often for her sake.

One of my favorite things to do is eat, so I make sure I sit down to eat a least 4 times a day. I eat breakfast, lunch, snack, and dinner with the kids or the kids and dh. I just enjoy concentrating on my food and being with the family. I'm sappy that way.

you should see me and T when we go out for dinner. we like it very slam bam thank you ma'am. we like to order quickly, have our food come quickly, eat it quickly without talking, then get the bill quickly and leave. we'd be perfect for fast food if the kind of food we liked was served fast food style. the only time we talk is while waiting for the food to come and while waiting for the check. once the food is in front of us, we just stuff our faces silently until the food is gone or we are full.
it's funny, because the more basic something is to human life, the more bored i am by it. other things that bore me (in addition to eating) are: taking a shower, brushing my teeth, going to the bathroom. but i could literally sit on the couch and stare at the wall for an hour and not get bored.
That's so funny!
It's great that you're so well matched.
I hate most things that HAVE to be done on a regular basis like all those chores.
