all of our thoughts are with you. and when you are ready to speak to your parents, just remember, spike DID die of his illnesses as much as kochina did. kochina was lucky enough to go relatively quietly before his suffering became too much and spike just needed some help to do the same.

I just wanted to say that i'm so sorry for the loss of your dog spike. I can't even start to imagine the depth of your sorrow. The thought of having to put my dog down one day is one i choose not to think about because it is such a hard thing to do when you love something so much. It's normal for you to have all these feelings and each person deals with it differently. I agree with someone who said, it's very easy to judge those from afar when you are not dealing with those daily struggles and watching your beloved pet fail so miserably day by day. Sometimes it seems the only kind thing to do for your pet. When they can't walk, or enjoy life like they once did. IMHO. Saying that, everyone has a different thought on this and you know what you would do and right now you feel like he shouldn't have been put to sleep. There is nothing wrong with that, but whatever you do, don't beat up on your parents about this matter. They are greiving too, and i'm sure it was the hardest thing they had to do. It's ok to cry and sometimes it's good to know that you are not alone in your grief..talk with your parents and perhaps you will understand their decision better. I wish you the best and hope that you find peace with this. Suzanne
