New Eating Plan (grr)

So for a couple weeks I've been doing a new eating plan suggested by my trainer at Krav Maga. He's been after me a long time about my eating and how it may relate to my easy bruising (though I'm convinced the bruising has to do with meds I take). Anyway, one night I got frustrated and said "OK fine, set up a plan for me, I'll do it for a while and we'll see what happens." So I guess now I have to do it.
The plan involves no pasta or rice, which I normally eat every day. Currently, my body is not missing them, but emotionally I think I am. Usually when I have a bad morning with my son or whatever, I make pasta for lunch, it's like my comfort. Now, I can't do that and it's harder. Sometimes I just try to do some crunches or pushups to work aggression out, but, well, I miss my spaghetti.
I need to go to the store and get some spaghetti squash and try to make that instead. Maybe that would help.
Thx for letting me vent.

I don't know if he thinks there's a connection there, per se, I think he just thinks that pasta and rice are the root of all evil or something. And another concern I talked to him about was a plan to put on some healthy weight-I've been fluctuating lately. (my husband's attempts to help by bringing home Doritos and Ho Hos made me nauseous)The plan has a huge amount of protein intake-I need to go to GNC to look at supplements that I can drink because I think it'd be impossible to get that much protein thru food.
I am being somewhat rebellious though-he told me no bread, but I'm still having some whole grain toast with breakfast and lunch. I just have a feeling that MY body will need it. We'll see what happens.
What is his nutritional
I agree that everyone needs to find/create an eating plan that works for them. Personally, I eat very little bread and no pasta or rice and that seems to work for me. I don't really think that everyone needs these types of carbs in their diet to function. But perhaps you do. Don't confuse cravings in the first week with needing it though, if you really want to try this diet. You can get healthy carbs and grains from a variety of sources.
Now I don't bruise very easily but I would never say that it is because I eat like this. It sounds like he is trying to get you to build muscle and perhaps he believes that it is harder to bruise muscle. I would be careful to make sure that his diet is not more suited for a man than a woman. I am no dietician by any means, but I would think that men may need more protein than women to help them build muscle mass. Again, this is only conjecture though.

Beware of overzealous male trainers... Not to stereotype, but I've seen more than one occasion where men try to use their own methods on women when the goals are completely different.
I am also wary of believing that your diet is causing your bruises. I'm not on any medication (except allergy medicine) and I bruise very easily as well. I've eaten high carb, I've eaten high protein and I've eaten high fat. Doesn't matter... I still look like a battered woman. :P
Also, a lot of trainers jump on bandwagons for lots of different things and those things are usually in accordance with their personal beliefs AND how they train themselves. Beware of that as well.
The bottom line here is that certified trainer or not, YOU know your own body better than anyone. If you feel like your body needs rice/pasta/bread/whatever, I think you should go with your instincts.
If you'd like a second opinion from another trainer, feel free to email me through my profile and send me his diet or your diet and I'll be happy to give you my feedback. :)
Thanks-I'll try to get in touch tonight or tomorrow because I would like some feedback.
Something weird happened just a little while ago-but it's a different gym rat topic. Out of the blue, the upper part of my hamstring (and under my rear) is burning. And not burning like "feel the burn" during a fitness class, but burning like someone's blowing a hot hairdryer onto my skin. It's the weirdest sensation. Could this have anything to do with my muscles/workout/diet? This is just bizarre.
As a non-professional, I wouldn't think it was diet related.
I tore the attachments between my hamstrings and glutes before my black belt test a couple of years ago and the pain was right where you are describing it. Do not try to overstretch this to make it go away as it will only make it worse. If you are stretching and start to feel pain or tightness here, then don't stretch any further. I had to get treatment for months because of this problem. I let it go too long and it got so bad that I could not do tkd. I had to stop and get treatment for two months.

the hot sensation is called parathesia, and it could be nothing, or it could be a symptom of a whole host of various serious conditions. i'd go to the doctor, especially if you've had it for more than a week or two and it hasn't gone away. if you can see a specialist with your health care plan without paying much more, go to a neurologist.
