Hey I am doing BOSU today as well - subbing...I'll just wing it I think ;)

Have 2 piano lessons to teach...currently chilling...

Breakfast: musli lavash, brie, lavender Earl Grey Tea w/honey
Lunch: roasted veggies, WW penne w/ tomato sauce and crumbled tofu
Dinner: fish congee w/cilantro

I did total body at the gym plus a half hour on the elliptical. So nice to be in a gym again! It's going to take me a while to get comfortable with all of their equipment. I spoke with the owner about possibly working there and she's interested in having me if I decide to do it. The money's not great, but it's more than I made at the last gym. It's a great atmosphere because it's small and NOT corporate at all. The owner doesn't believe in hard sales and the only additional thing they sell are smoothies (versus Weight Loss Lollipops that sat on the counter at the old gym... ick.) Had a very good workout. I used a hack squat machine - haven't done one of those in ages. Anybody else used one before?

I have one client this afternoon and I have some programming to do for another client.

Breakfast: peanut butter banana wrap

Snack: protein shake

Lunch: roasted tomato soup, ?

Snack: carrots and hummus

Dinner: not sure yet...

It's the one where you're standing but you're on an incline. There are shoulder rests and you squat down. This one felt really odd. I think it's because I've been doing squats w/o equipment for so long. I wanted to move my feet further up (if that makes sense) but the foot plate wasn't that tall. I think the feet plate position really forces you to isolate the quads and I'm not used to isolating my muscles at all. I squatted 180 with it, which I suppose is respectable. I could probably do more, but wanted to get used to it.

I also did the leg press you mentioned... my beloved leg press. That is my favorite leg machine of all time and it's been about 10 years since I belonged to a gym that had one. I was so excited when I saw it yesterday and thought "Oooh, I could that everyday if I want." :P I think I used to love it so much because it allows me to press a lot of weight without bothering my knees AND it was always fun to see guys' reactions as I load plate after plate. It's been about 10 years since I belonged to a co-ed gym too.

I have tried the hack squat but it looks like my knees are going over my toes so that freaks me out a bit and it is not part of my regular routine. I love, love, LOVE the leg press machine though.

Congratulations on the new Prius, Jean! Here are some e-coins being thrown in for good luck! So exciting to get a new car.


I wish I would get here early enough to start the journal thread. But, if I go on the computer first thing in the morning, I wouldn't get anything else done. I have to get my house "stuff" done early, or I just don't get to it. One reason I don't like the early morning classes...once I go out, I don't want to do housework when I get back home.


Taught the body sculpting class which is now officially mine. Small turnout today, but the whole gym was slower than usual this week. Got a paycheck..woo hoo! I was going to stay for the hi/lo afterwards but something told me to just go home. Instead went for a very long walk pushing granddaughter in her stroller. Could be why I am extra hungry today.


Had a crazy day with eating so far. I had it planned, but life got in the way again. I did start with decaf tea before class, a navel orange after it. Before I could really eat my breakfast omelet, I took care of granddaughter, went for walk, my sis called from Fl with problems...well, you know how it goes.


Lunch...ww wrap with homemade low fat imitation crabmeat salad and romaine lettuce. 2 green teas.


S...reduced fat string cheese.


D...planning on some pasta fagiole that DD made. That should wrap up the day.
