Millcreek's Friday Journal:

I'm too embarrassed to write what I've been eating since not being on the board.

Ticks on a toilet, eh? Thinking about that makes my butt itch! :)

Today I have a job interview at the gym that I want to join, and then I teach piano. At the gym I'm going to do elliptical, and then back/lats/shoulders.

My very very beloved RCA Lyra mp3 player is broken - the volume is stuck on "deafening" - I have an mp3 player that my bf "borrowed" from his office but I would either like to get an ipod shuffle or another Lyra that has a HR monitor http://tinyurl.com/a98hl

After reading reviews of the shuffle, I am dubious, because everyone says that it is very sensitive to sweat and moisture and that you really HAVE to get the waterproof sport carrying case to protect it or else your shuffle will be toast very soon. I prefer an armband-style case as people LOVE the waterproof case but say that it's not good for anything high impact because the shuffle will bounce all over. I have used a lanyard style player before and hated it for that very reason.

any thoughts?

breakfast: brie & musli lavash, blueberry yogurt
lunch: ???
dinner: ????

I forgot to add - my BOSU class last night went OK, I guess. I was practicing the cardio routine on the main gym floor before class, and I went over on my ankle (the same one I sprained last year) and the class itself aggravated the Achilles on my OTHER foot a bit. And I thought my class had no flow whatsoever. But it was my first time teaching BOSU so it can only get better, right?

Ugh, Jean. Camping with 12 girls in a backyard? Noooooo thank you. :)

I have a client this morning and then I'm going to the gym for some cardio. This place has a stepmill which I also haven't been on in years so I'm going to give that a whirl. DH and I are doing yoga this morning and then I have a client this afternoon.

Breakfast: Kashi w/milk

Snack: protein shake

Lunch: leftover curried chicken, protein pudding maybe?

Snack: apple and peanut butter

dinner: leftover roasted tomato soup, ?

have an indoor sleepover instead. you would never in a million years get me to a brownie camping trip in the rain, either as a brownie OR as a mom. camping in the rain is crazy talk. that's why homo sapiens invented shelter, folks! even the neanderthals knew enough to go live in caves. brownies should be at least as smart as neanderthals, i think, or else they don't deserve any patches for their little sashes. and don't even get me started on that menu. my god, i'm so glad i don't have kids.

on a happier note, the plumbers won't tear up your house as much as you think they will. we've had pipes replaced too, and it's not a huge deal. and i'm very paranoid about house-ripping-up so if i say that you can take comfort.

i think for the price of a shuffle you should get a nano for not that much more.

I haven't had problems with the shuffle in terms of sweat or moisture but I agree w/ Jen that I'd spring for the nano (or even the mini even if they're discontinuing it. I'll bet you could get a used one pretty cheap on eBay right now).

Any of the other kinds of ipods are not an option for me - they are too big, even the nano (too much storage space and also too bulky)

There is no way in a million years I'd need several gigs worth of space. I only have 4.88 gigs of music TOTAL and maybe 10% of that I'd actually listen to at the gym. I don't even fill up my 256mb player.

I only had 15 songs on my shuffle so I understand.

Hey everybody. Thought I would pop in while all three monkeys are sleeping at the same time. I haven't had time to do much walking because the kids are on different schedules so I can't get them all out the door at the same time. By the time dh gets home it is dark (which is why I miss summer). I've been squeezing in 2 minute workouts throughout the day. nothing major because I haven't stopped bleeding yet. I'm struggling with nursing which has me in tears most days. Cross falls asleep everytime I bf and he won't stay awake to get the hindmilk, so he isn't gaining weight. I've tried almost everything to wake him, but he is so laid back that he doesn't care if there is an ice cube on his back while his daddy is tickling him. Argh!

Today:
I did some crunches, 31 pushups, lunges, calf raises, walked through some forms, and did some yoga moves, but not all at once.

Food:
oatmeal
oatmeal cookies (i invented these cookies that are totally bad, but taste so good)
fish sticks
oatmeal cookies
enchilada lasagna
probably more cookies, they are so good.
