1) What is the longest your hair has ever been? That would have to be the length it is right now. I realized after my DD was born that my hair is actually curly so I have let it grow.
2) Shortest? In the early 90's my hair was pretty short. I would even get the back of it buzzed so that it had one of those halfway looks that were popular back then.
3) What is the longest skirt you've ever worn? I have a full length skirt with a slit that I wore the last couple of winters to work with boots sometimes.
4) Shortest? I have worn some very short skirts in my time. That is a hard one to answer. I was never afraid of the mini.
5) How long was the longest shirt you've ever worn? That would have to be in the 80's probably when those were popular with the wide belts. I don't wear very long shirts anymore.
6) shortest? I was never thrilled with my belly but I did have a couple of button up tanks which tied at the waist that showed a little belly in the late 90's. Pre-baby lol.
Re: your comment about midriff skin showing... When DH and I were in St. Louis, we went to a comedy show and the comedianne was talking about the fad these days about having tummies hang out - she called it the "biscuit dough phenomenon". :)
you know, i'm pretty tired of that kind of humor. it seems harmless, but it really perpetuates the whole body image obsession that women have.
i can see people not thinking it appropriate to show your stomach at ALL in polite company, but it shouldn't matter whether the stomach is flat or doughy. is a doughy stomach somehow less socially appropriate than a flat stomach? apparently, but i think that's bull. i have a doughy stomach and sometimes i wear clothes in which it shows and i don't give a rat's anus if people don't like it. as long as my clothing is appropriate in the circumstances, why should anyone have any business judging me on the doughiness of my middle?
i think the real basis behind jokes like that is the comedian's own insecurity about her body. i'm sure that the comedian who made that joke was no cameron diaz herself. she doesn't like her body, but she can make herself feel better by acting superior about how at least she has the good sense to cover up her disgusting body. a woman with a flat stomach would never make such a joke and expect people to laugh, so why is it any funnier when a flabby woman tells it? she's just a self-hating dough-girl.
*lol* I always wonder how the young girls feel about that trend - do they feel self-conscious about showing that softness, even though on tv and movies it's always sleek skinny (often too-skinny) things? Or is being fashionable more important?
Myself, I hate the draft between my shirt and pants if they're too far apart!
