we had a fun halloween. still have a bunch of candy left over though (even after donating some to neighbors who ran out), we just don't get the crowds we used to get. next year we are going to decorate our yard more. there's halloween escalation going on in our neighborhood - one neighbor has his yard all decorated and invites people in to sit around and hear scary stories and drink hot cider. another has these giant fan-driven sculpture thingys in her yard (one giant spider and a giant grim reaper). we need to keep up with the joneses if we are going to get the kids down to our end of the street. one thing that stinks is that we were the last house on our side of the street that was giving out candy. so beyond us, it was all dark. that's why we need to do it up bigger next year.
since it was pretty nice out, halloween turned into the usual neighborhood party and we sat outside drinking beer with our neighbors on our porch as we gave out candy, then i went a few houses down to hang out with some old friends who were over at my neighbor's house (the one with the giant blow up spider and grim reaper) and drink some wine on their porch. i drank too much beer and wine and didn't sleep well and now i have a headache.
i'm going to go get a tofu wrap, coffee and potatos for breakfast and go to the gym at lunch. i'll do the elliptical or something. i'm not sure about food for the rest of the day after that.
My mom and I don't give out candy, so no damage done. Going to spin this morning and then teach piano in the evening.
Breakfast: blueberry yogurt (the texture is kind of grainy, but edible), fake sausage, scrambled eggs with veggies. Lunch: WW penne with veggies Dinner: ???
I'm home with a sore throat. :-( May do some squats though, or some yoga.
Had about 2 tbsp of chocolate chips last night (I forgot to put the bag away when I made candy for the office the other day! I took the candy in, but the chips have been on the counter, and of course I saw them... :-7)
Had one kid ring the doorbell, but I didn't get there fast enough. I opened the door and he was down the hallway, and wouldn't come back. So now I have 20 little cups of playdoh... hopefully my boss knows kids who would enjoy it.
I didn't have one single piece of Halloween candy because I didn't buy any. We have *maybe* two kids who live in our neighborhood and I couldn't imagine getting any candy traffic here. Just in case, I did turn off the lights and close off the house. *ducking* I know, I know. It's grinchy. :( Next year I'll do better.
I did back and biceps this morning plus 25 minutes on the bike. My legs/buns are sore yesterday from my killer leg workout. I have been taking glutamine to help with the soreness and I think it really is helping. I had a client this morning and I have one this evening. I have the middle of the day to myself. I'm not feeling very well. I didn't sleep much last night and I'm fighting some nausea. DH and I are in the midst of some "couple stuff" and I don't handle that kind of stuff very well physically. I think I may also be PMS'ing which is very much NOT contributing to the resolution of things.
Breakfast: scrambled eggs and cheese
Snack: protein shake
Will have to update... can't think about food right now.
I love millet! Hulled just means they've taken the outer indigestible hull off.
If you cook it in lots of water, it gets really creamy and mushy. If you hold some back, maybe even toast it a little in a dry pan first, it more individual/separate.
