My kids have the day off today--I want to know who thought it would be a good idea to have a school holiday on a voting day.

After all that ranting about waiting in line, I was the only voter there when I got there at 9am!

I have to ask...when you married gym rats are lifting heavy weights, do you wear your rings to the gym?

I just got home from spin, and having lunch with bf, teaching piano.

Breakfast: blueberry yogurt, WW pita with natural PB
Lunch: leftover noodles, raw veggies & dip
Dinner: ???

my eating is kind of bad lately because mom and I are trying to finish up the fresh stuff in the fridge before we go to Hong Kong next week.

I typically do not wear my ring when I am working out. I wear gloves and the ring is uncomfortable with the gloves and the weights. My fingers also tend to swell so I avoid putting my ring on until after I'm done.

I rarely wear rings anyway.

I always wear my rings. After 37 years, I can't even think about taking them off. They are part of me. My hands are so small I don't have to worry about them being under the gloves. Actually, the heaviest I

don't worry, with the electronic voting, the company who makes the machines will make sure your vote isn't counted, so it doesn't matter what happens in the polling place.

i'm going to go pick up T and go vote in a couple of minutes, i hope there's no line but i bet there will be.

i took today off and had a very productive day. much more productive than if i'd been at work! i took the dog to the dermatologist, made her homemade dog treats to suit her special non-food allergy diet, rented a steam cleaner from home depot, vacuumed the carpet, steam cleaned the carpet, returned the steam cleaner, and gave the dog a bath. then i finally got a bath myself. being a dog mommy is hard work. i'm glad i don't have any human children, i couldn't handle it.

no workout though, except hauling the heavy steam cleaner around.

wow, that's very cool that you are going to hong kong!

not married, but i wear my non-wedding band/wedding band all the time, including at the gym. it's already so scratched up though, so i don't care about getting it any more scratched up. the company we bought them from actually lets you send them back to be polished once every six months for free, which is very cool but we've had them for years and never had them polished. they REALLY need it though. they look like they have that "brushed finish" but it's all scratches.

i highly recommend getting "comfort fit" rings, to anyone who is in the market for rings that they intend to wear most of the time. they are more expensive, but they really are so much more comfortable. my ring is comfort fit and i never notice that it's on, even when lifting weights, wearing weightlifting gloves, etc.

I don't lift heavy weights, but for that (and for rock climbing!) I use the chain from DH's dogtags and wear them around my neck...

My wedding band is like that, but the engagement ring isn't. I agree, they're much more comfortable for regular use.

DH did well picking out a ring - I asked for it to be very sturdy if he insisted on having stones... so he ended up with a bezel set center flanked by two that are partly bezel set... anyway, I bang it around all the time and *knock on wood* they're fine. But the band definitely has an edge (not something I would have thought to think about, since I didn't wear many rings before even).
